What It Is Good For Towel Kicks are an excellent stabilization exercise. It challenges your core to keep an upright position and isolates your leg muscles to lift off the ground. X-Y Core really targets the entire core since your legs and arms are extended out. Your core will work to stabilize your body, especially when your legs spread apart. When you spread your legs, that is working the outer thighs and glutes, which you will absolutely feel! Perform this as a circuit. So for the first exercise, Towel Kicks, do 40 total kicks. Then move to X-Y Core and do a complete set. When you're done with a set of each movement, start your second set and repeat the circuit until you have done 3 sets of each towel exercise. Towel Kicks - How to Do It 1. Sit on the floor with your torso upright and your feet in front touching together. 2. Extend your arms out in front and pull the towel. 3. Lift one leg at a time, alternating as you go. One kick to the towel counts as a rep. Go to 40. X-Y Core - How to Do It 1. Keep your back flat on the ground. 2. Raise your hands above your head and keep them slightly off the ground. 3. Keep a wide grip on the towel and pull it. Keep your arms in this position. 4. Keep your legs elevated. 5. Next, spread your legs apart so that your body goes from the shape of a 'y' to an 'x'. 6. The out-in movement with your legs is one rep. Count to 20. #towelexercises #tensiontoner #homeworkouts_4u
