My family loves to mock female athletes, specifically their appearance. One time I was watching the Olympics with them and I confronted them about it, but their response was "we're just joking, lighten up". I had to leave the room because I was upset. Being a girl who doesn't conform to a lot of female socialised things, like wearing makeup, doing my hair, wearing feminine clothing, and having been mocked about this many times throughout my life, it hit a personal note.
