They exhale smoke that catches PINK in the glow of the sign behind them, shining down on the streets of Wonderland. The warmth in their lungs doesn’t counteract the chill of the air on bare skin though, not up on the roof. It’s an UNCOMMON place to hold court, but they’ll make due. Easier to hear each other up here, less distraction than meeting in their private rooms at the back of the club. Truthfully, they would have preferred that, but it seems their audience for the night wants something less intimate. They’re disappointed, but they’re not going to refuse.

Shhhhh. Shhhhhhhhh. Relax. This is a ridiculous lie. If Australia isn’t real, where are all of these realistic-looking animals to be found? Are you trying to suggest we invented them and they’re all tiny robots designed to amuse you? Does that really sound possible? No, I don’t think so.

Rebekah loathed running, or walking, from her problems. Or, from whomever had planted a bomb on that car. That had been scary, it had been more than that, it had been dangerous. Her companion, the man she’d saved or doomed, was waving a taxi. She wanted to go back, to see who had tried to kill him. Or her. Better yet, go home and forget that her powers had gone on the fritz and put her right into his path. That was the better option, for them both, though she still wanted to get to the bottom of what had pushed her towards him.

She was extremely confused with it all. It was too much.

FEBRUARY IS THE MONTH OF LOVE! - February 10th

What do I even say about Ash? If you know this person, you are already perfectly aware of how precious, how sweet, and how positive a presence they are around here. They make friends easily and in return, can always be counted on to be a good friend to you, and one who seems to take a certain sort of pleasure in encouraging the validation and encouragement of everyone around them. 

Their writing is an easy rhythm that feels comfortable and familiar, no matter what environment you thrust your muses into, and their adaptability is to be truly admired. Ash actually has several muses, each voice more unique and distinct than the last. This Sebastian is a little different from others I’ve had the pleasure of writing with; it’s easy to fall in love with his dry sense of humor and his quick wit.

But instead of striking her, something he would never do, Sebastian grabbed Thatcher by the waist and pulled her into a rough kiss.                              He had her pinned against the wall, her skirt pushed up, his belt unfastened, when she uttered those words. “Walk away, Thatcher. Because this is your last chance.”

"I can't do that..." Though perhaps not for the reasons that he might have assumed. Yes, she needed a son but she needed Sebastian more. He'd always been an important figure in her life but these days he was proving to be integral to her very existence. "I've never been able to walk away from you." 

How many years now had they been inseparable? Had things just been slightly different...had they a little more time, would he have asked for her hand? Would they have been starting a family but under much more agreeable circumstances? All she could do at this point was speculate. They could never have the kind of life together that she dreamed of in her younger years but perhaps this was better than nothing...no, a life without him was unthinkable. Of course this was better. For now.
