Harley looked down upon her tattered shorts and t-shirt. She hadn’t realized they were in such bad form when she put them on! Neither had she noticed people staring any more than usual. She just didn’t know she was pretty damn close to walking around in her underwear.
“They’re that bad huh?” She stuck one finger through a hole on her top. It didn’t really matter to her that her bikini was visible and all..that was the whole point with a bikini anyways!
“But..I don’t have any other clothes. I guess we could rob a store? Unless you can lend me some?” She said, and smiled, canting her head, while rocking on her feet a bit. She looked her up and down and smiled with a glint in her eye. “You look like my size.”
“Maybe not FANCY, but at least put together. And I can certainly loan you a few things if you like. I have an awful lot of RED on hand, which seems to be a color that suits you just fine. Follow me.”
The Queen beckons, turning on her heel to head toward the large walk-in closet within her apartment. “If there’s one thing I know how to do, it’s make an IMPRESSION.” With that, the doors are pulled back, revealing everything from professional attire to show attire for their club. “Take your pick, dear. Just try not to ruin anything too badly.”

“Do you really trust me enough to offer me such a privilege?” she counters playfully. In a place like this where everybody has an alias, knowing someone’s real name is indicative of a deeper bond. Or at least of a willingness to offer a bit more of oneself than what you would offer to the rest of the kingdom. “Well… I can’t very well tell you no twice in one night, now can I?” she hummed as the queen stepped even closer. “What is your name, my queen?”
“MAINE.” A strange name for a strange person. “Maine Hart- isn’t that appropriate?” she asks with a light laugh. She chooses to lean on humor rather than acknowledge the serious nature of this offer. Most in her service don’t even know her name- and yet she has given it to someone in the employ of her ENEMY. To be fair, she’s hoping she’ll be able to change that. “Now, don’t go spouting off that little secret to anyone else- that’s just for us.”

Once upon a time, there were four little girls born when a mother was expecting one. Not all surprises are good surprises; the single mom was hardly prepared to take care of one daughter, let alone four of them. Things were tough, but the Hart Sisters stuck together, protected each other. The oldest, Maine, spun a tale for them about four lost princesses thrown from Wonderland who ended up in this cruel, harsh world. They lived in this fantasy together, painting over all the darkness, tragedy, and struggle in their lives with the magic of Wonderland. But it was a game for children, and some of them grew out of it more gracefully than others.

Maine Hart, The Queen of Hearts
Maine is the oldest of the Hart quadruplets, and though assigned male at birth, she grew up knowing who she was from day one. Her sisters never questioned, and they accepted her for who she was. Maine wove the story for them, and she ruled over them all like the well-known monarch in the books. She stuck up for them, she got in fights on their behalves, she took injuries, detentions, and all manner of punishment to keep her sisters safe. A tyrant to the outside world, but a loving protector to her family.
Keeping with the persona even after the sisters split following Mallory’s first suicide attempt, Maine succeeded in opening her own business as an adult: The Palace. A fetish club with Wonderland themeing, Maine is well known among the elite of Gotham who have particular tastes. She is also well known among the criminal underground. Providing shelter & assistance for some, work for others, and selling some out to the GCPD to keep her employees and citizens safe. To her colleagues on the darker side of the city, she maintains her childhood nickname: The Queen of Hearts.
Mallory Hart, The Queen of Diamonds
Mallory is the youngest of the sisters, and sadly, the one who had the hardest time giving up the illusions of their fantasy world. She clung to it to escape her demons, and soon her delusional tendencies took to the story as well. Money was to tight for professional help, and school counselors were woefully ineffective for the youngest Hart. When she finished high school, she attempted to take her own life after trying to convince Maine to join her in the act.
Though she survived the attempt, her illness only worsened. While Mae worked on her degrees and Malyn disappeared, Maine attempted to take care of Mallory. Working whatever jobs she could get to afford therapy, medications, whatever the youngest might need to function. But hard work and love isn’t always enough to save someone. Mallory killed her therapist and tried to take her own life as well, and at that point she was removed from Maine’s care and confined at Arkham following the trial. Maine wants nothing more than to break her out and take care of her once again.
Mae Hart, The Queen of Clubs
Mae is the second born, and what most would consider the successful Hart sister. Mae shed the illusion of Wonderland early on, choosing instead to live in the real world and attempt to navigate it to the best of her ability. She excelled in school despite her circumstances, and she always tried to encourage her sisters to do the same. She thought she was getting somewhere with Mallory before the first attempt.
Trusting Maine to take care of her youngest sister, Mae focused on obtaining a Bachelor’s in psychology at a local university. She was in the middle of her Master’s degree when Mallory was convicted and committed. As soon as she was able, she began her residency at Arkham, continuing her research and trying to stay close to her youngest sister. Whenever possible, she also tries to work on corralling Malyn’s antics, but it’s hard to get a visitor’s pass to Blackgate.
Malyn Hart, The Queen of Spades
Malyn is third born, and the one who slips through the cracks the most. Maine and Malyn have always butted heads over everything. They often fought for the leadership of the group, but played it off in a friendly sort of competition. As they got older though, the competition became more intense. As much as Maine loved her, they still got in a few physical fights in the schoolyard. Malyn even had the gall to snidely blame Maine for Mallory’s initial suicide attempt. At that point, the two fell out drastically.
Malyn, much like Maine, has opted to keep her childhood alias. Known as The Spade or The Queen of Spades, Malyn kills indiscriminately and without mercy. Sometimes taking mercenary jobs, sometimes killing for pleasure. She’s been arrested and convicted multiple times, often serving partial sentences before managing to break out. She’s determined to be better and more infamous than any of her other sisters, and she’s convinced the key to that is tempting Mae to join her on the dark side.
Hello hello! In an effort to get the ball rolling here again, I’m going to be swapping out the format I currently have going. While previously my Wonderland verses were front and center, I will now be focusing on my DC VERSES instead- that fandom is a little more lively, and I love writing that variant of the queen. I’ve also changed some basic info, which can be found updated on my bio page. I’ll still write in Wonderland, it just won’t be my main verse anymore.
