Happy 30th Anniversary, Super Metroid
Thoha and Mawkin tribes?
Haven’t seen anyone talk about this yet so here we go
Twitter user Daktroid-117 decided to try stitching together images of an EMMI zone (specifically the Green one) and it’s given us an interesting new detail in the background
Looks to me like some massive Torizo under construction, with wings and an arm cannon. though some of the proportions do give off more Meta Ridley vibes... I’d love to hear other people’s interpretations as well

A sketch of that one guy from Super Metroid

If you're still taking headcanon prompts... Chozo warriors
Back in the day, Chozo warriors used to be adept soldiers... That was thousands of years ago, before the Chozo underwent massive social reform on Zebes (by which point the SR388 population may have already broken off, but there was still cultural exchange between the two). As of then, the highly respected Chozo warriors became something else: peacekeepers. To hold a weapon in your hand and not use it for selfish or aggressive cause reflected the wisdom and restraint these warriors had, marking them out as some of the most respectable and reliable members of society. The role has a very important meaning to the Chozo beyond just being good at fighting.
Both Zebes and SR388 had orders of warriors. Elysia didn't bother with them because their Elysian robots filled every peacekeeping role they needed, but on Tallon IV you could take up the warrior role- it was still respected, but all not quite as formally organized. Warriors on Zebes trained in temples throughout Crateria and Brinstar, until they advanced enough to be sent to Lower Norfair, considered the ultimate training ground due to its harsh conditions. SR388 Chozo may have used superheated areas beneath their temples in the same way.
As final proof of strength, or in order to reach the highest rank, warriors hailing from the city around Chozodia would engage in battle with the spirit of Chozodia, also known as the God of War- said to be the ghost of a great ancestral warrior. Passing this test gave them access to armour and weapons which marked them out as being of higher status. Samus Aran herself passes this test in Zero Mission, and acquires the legendary power suit as a reward.
As an additional note: mobile Torizo were designed to be warriors, so they were highly respected and valued by the Chozo.
