#001 King Tordian 49th
Monarchy=Anarchy?
I’m sure most of you have heard of Sir Thomas More, one of the victims of Henry VIII. But he’s more famous of his vision, Utopia. It’s quite an interesting book, it’s worth reading. This idea I’m sharing with you has some common features with this book, but I do not consider that it’s based on it.
My concern behind this idea is that we still couldn’t find a feasible way to build states. Regimes never worked for the people so far. Politics were not used to reach peace, or at least balance, but not in a political meaning but in the meaning of being able to insure our citizens to have a well balanced life, serving the country and still having the opportunity to lead a life separated from the obligate activity.
We’d need a political system that prevents leaders from misusing their power. They should not be able to benefit from working for themselves, corruption should not be worth doing.
 The first problem is that our leaders don’t live and work for the led ones.
What if every leader (kings, queens, presidents, secretaries etc.) should undergo an examinationthat would show both the examined and the experts his/her weaknesses and strengths. In my mind I had a sort of labyrinth (L. of Soul). In this video game-like artificial reality labyrinth the examined person has to make decisions in various situations. The main goal is not to get out of the LoS, but to face such events, situations that reveal those aspects of his/her personality that are relevant and important when giving political power in one’s hand. And according to these tests we could place people around him/her who have the missing features, or can countervail harmful ones.
The second problem is that even if we have good willing leaders who only care about the citizens, noone can predict the outcomes of a decision that affects a whole nation.
We are so proud of the technical developement we have. We could use our great OS-s for these predictions. I mean that if there were obligatory but anonymous surveys on everything (literally - chocolate or vanilla, red or black etc.), we’d know the habits of the habitants, we’d load these data to a program, and require a certain amount of deviation from the usual habits (every 3rd time every 5th person eats vanilla flavored ice cream insteag of chocolate, despite his/her favourite one is chocolate) and calculate the decisions the citizens would make if something would be different (a bill gets accepted - on taxes, restaurants etc.), and we could check out the long term effect of our decisions on the country. And not using real people as guinea pigs. Of course these were only approximate predictions, but we have technical geniuses nowadays, not even talking about the future.
This is not a solution it’s a tiny part of a movie idea, which I call King Tordian 49th.
