TOP 9 ARTWORKS OF 2020

Before 2020 ends, I want to make a top 9 post like my artist friends are doing. But mine will be different. It won’t be based on likes, engagement, nor anything. Instead, these are just 9 of my personal favorite photos that I took this year (including those from my daytime account @solnoirmanila) - based on personal taste, relevancy to the theme I go for, and how much discussion it generated on forums. When I started this whole thing in 2019, I thought this was solely going to be an aesthetics project, mixing cyberpunk with vaporwave and outrun elements. But somewhere along the way, I made the decision to focus solely on cyberpunk and how each picture can fit within my worldbuilding narrative. As I delved deeper into media and discussion boards, I realized that it isn’t just about aesthetics anymore - I gathered ideas on what the genre is really all about and pushed my art in that direction. Instead of just neon, I tried to look for subjects that can be considered cyberpunk to its core - juxtapositions, disparities, technology, noir environments, even everyday life in the dystopian city. Because I want to distance myself from the “mainstream” and make a name for myself by actually capturing the core elements of what makes a cyberpunk world. I do still try to capture neon and cityscapes, but only as a means to enhance the look and feel of my body of work as a whole. Lastly, I want to thank all of you for the likes, shares, saves, and discussions across all online platforms. I know it may not seem like much but it actually helps us content creators a lot. A special mention to my friends, family, and my amazing partner for being supportive throughout this whole endeavor. You guys are awesome and I can’t thank you enough. 2020 has been a hell of a year, let’s hope 2021 will be better for all of us.

to close off the year I'd like to share my personal favorites.

This year has gone completely different then I imagined it would go. It was a year if many changed plans and some exciting first times . I learned a lot managed to successfully fund two Kickstarters of which I'm very proud. I'm looking forward to start new projects in the new year and grow with the challenges those projects provide.
