2024 felt like 4 years in one for me. Personally it was a terrible year for me, however art-wise I grew a lot and now have a much clearer picture of what I want and need to do going forward. The 2 big things this year for me was that I passed 100,000 followers on tumblr (I included one of the celebration animations I made for it which tumblr itself featured which was really cool), and I finally launched an early version of the 'Super Cassette' brand.

I'll say that for other artists, 2024 is proof of why you should try to post on as many platforms as possible. Tumblr was nearly dead a couple years ago, Tiktok was only good for short videos and now it's one of the best for image albums, Instagram used to be worth posting on (I'm sure it'll come back), Pinterest I've ignored but I get far more reach there than on IG now, etc.

This year has been so busy that it's best summed up in my 'top9 favorite posts' image in which my 2 favorite designs for the year only exist as merch, I haven't made those versions as art yet. Right now I'm sorting my 2025 plans which I'm excited to work on, although they are far more ambitious than anything I've done before.

2023 was a weird year where Instagram desperately wanted to become Tiktok, Tiktok still did Tiktok best and now also is the better platform for artists to post image albums on. Twitter died and Tumblr continued its resurgence. If not for Tumblr doing so well I'd feel pretty bad about the year social media-wise. Art-wise though I'm very happy since I managed to significantly upgrade many of my old favorite designs (to use for merch and finally my own site) but also was able to push forward on new illustrations and test out many new series ideas. My goal for 2024 is to keep the momentum going, since there are a few other longterm plans I want to do. Thanks for following!
