3. No Patron Saint of Silent Restraint (Dragon Age: Inquisition, Dorian/Bull, rated T)

This is a little scene set right after Bull gets attacked by assassins on the ramparts, in light of his personal quest. I wanted to explore a scenario where he and Dorian were already hooking up when this happens, to play with how Dorian might react. I’ve always felt like this fic was the strongest I ever was with my Dorian voice, I was kinda proud of how the dialogue came together. And I liked getting the opportunity to bring up the story of him meeting Krem in front of him, too.

2. To Have and to Hold (Dragon Age: Inquisition, Dorian/Bull, rated M)

This was for the Adoribull Minibang 2016, set during Trespasser. It’s meant to be kind of a big meditation on Dorian’s ideas of and experiences with marriage, past and present, and how he comes to understand what love and commitment really look like to him as he’s poised to make a huge decision for the future. It alternated between a past memory and a present interaction, back and forth, and I was really happy with how that turned out. I think the writing came out pretty strong overall, and I liked having the space to play with some of his other friendships and relationships, like with Sera and Cassandra. 

1. A Line in the Sand (Fallout 4, Deacon/MacCready, rated E)

My start-from-scratch, enemies-to-friends-to-lovers, 200k slow burn ship manifesto. My let-me-convince-you-to-ship-it-starting-from-square-one fic. I promise I won’t go on and on, I know I’ve said a lot about this fic and series already. But it’s the first long form fic I’ve ever completed, really the first novel I’ve ever written, and I’m just trying to allow myself to be proud of that. It was a lot of fun to take a rare pair and really put the work in to make it happen, to wrestle with the things they’d disagree on and the ways they’d butt heads and slowly build a connection. I think it did a lot to challenge my writing, my plotting, and my characterization, and it just helped me re-discover the joy I find in writing. Plus it’s the reason I’ve met a lot of wonderful new friends here!

- Awakening. there are so so so many things that this game hecked up especially when it comes to f!robin, but at the same time i adore it to pieces.

- Blazing Blade. i haven’t even finished this game yet but it’s so good holy hell like i can’t put it down i have to be a productive human and it’s killing me 

- nah. my daughter, the light of my life who got wrecked by the writers ugh.  

- m!morgan. my son, the light of my life who didn’t get wrecked by the writers. mostly anyway. i haven’t seen all his supports lol.

- i wish we saw more consequences for his actions/words? tbh sometimes he blurts out things that are…really heckin’ rude looks at owain’s recruitment chapter and he makes mistakes and also his decision to go to war with valm was probably really unpopular amongst the people but we never see this kind of thing in the game which kinda sucks

- that a lot of his better and more defining character traits are often eclipsed by his more silly ones…or his clothes

- Sakura, from Fates. She’s a sweetie and I love her. One of the handful of Hoshidan characters that I adore to pieces. She has a lot of nice supports imo, and she’s worked well as a unit for me thus far.

- Lissa, from Awakening. Also a sweetie, except unlike Sakura she might stick frogs down your shirt. I dunno, Lissa makes me happy, generally. Except when you, Maggie, and I start throwing angst at each other. That does not make me happy. 

oooh antagonists

- Arvis, from Genealogy. Honestly he was probably one of my fave parts of that one (though I read a script and couldn’t keep like 70% of the characters straight so idk how much that’s worth lol)

- Aversa, from Awakening. Man they did her dirty in terms of writing her (especially with her supports with f!Robin which I will forever be bitter about), but I love her so, so much. She’s probably my top fave on this list actually.
