The season 4 time jump, and what it means for The Dragon Prince
In a comment posted by @cause-i-love-you-rayla, we got the news that season 4 of The Dragon Prince will pick up a couple of years after we leave off in season 3.
This was comment was left on a post by @dragonblaggin, in which they discuss they’re theory about how s4 would pick up right at Callum and Rayla’s July birthdays. I adored the post, seeing as my own predictions for season 4 contained the exact same thing:
MY POSTED PREDICTIONS FO4 SEASON 4:
- A time jump to summer, and Callum and Rayla’s birthdays, which we celebrate. Rayla makes Callum moonberry surprise!
- Having lost three parents, Callum becomes incredibly protective and anxious about losing Ezran, Rayla, and his other loved ones
- Ezran begins to grow into his role as king, where he maintains communication with Callum and Rayla through his connection with Zym.
- Callum and Rayla stay in Xadia, with the Dragon Queen, where Callum slowly learns more magic and unveils the secrets of the key.
- The world is still at war, as returning the dragon egg did not fix everything.
- Aaravos comes after Callum in Xadia, through a resurrected Viren.
- In a parallel to 3x9, Rayla has to save Callum from Viren in battle.
- In the battle, Viren gains possession of the key.
- Callum masters at least one more arcanum– most likely moon.
- Rayla discovers her parents are trapped in coins, and they are freed (potentially by Callum). She feels guilty, however, that she got her loved ones back and Callum could not.
- Callum realizes he and Rayla’s paths now divulge, as Rayla stays in Xadia to reunite with her family and he has a duty to find the key again. He feels a duty as he lost it, and now the world is in danger.
- We end with Callum and Rayla separating, and Aaravos taking the key, as our cliffhanger.

Needless to say, having the same theory as @dragonblaggin I was, as the kids say, shooketh by this development. I thought long and hard about what this meant for season 4 narratively and plot-wise.
And then i realized... it really doesn’t change much at all. In fact, the more i thought about it, the more I liked it.
Though I would still love to see Callum and Rayla’s birthday celebrations in an episode, a time jump of this extent could actually make a lot of narrative sense. There are some distinct benefits to this time jump:
I. We get to move forward with Ezran’s growth as a leader. We cover a lot of his strength and the plotline of him growing into his position in season 3l and it will be nice to jump ahead to him as a slightly older, more seasoned leader (Though still a child make no mistake kid is only going to be 12 still).
II. Realistic politics. This is something a lot of fantasy shows do not take into consideration in their plotting. Political ramifications and maneuverings can play out over a course of years, decades, and even centuries. AFTER THE FINAL BATTLE, IT’S NOT UNREALISTIC THAT WE WOULD REALLY START SEEING THE EFFECTS OF THE WAR UNTIL YEARS LATER.
III. 17-year-old Rayllum. Need I say more.
IV. Separation of narrative arcs. Oh, this satisfies my OCD so much. A time jump of a couple years is the perfect way to compartmentalize the two narrative halves of the show.
So long story short, my theories for season 4 are... basically the same. Who knows, maybe we’ll still pick up on Callum and Rayla’s birthdays, but it’s just their 18th/ 17th vs their 16th/ 15th. The point, our characters are going to be able to breathe a bit and grow between the seasons, and we already have a graphic novel to help fill that gap. Things are simply going to play out a bit more slowly like they do in history. There will be a gap in this chain of historical events, where our villains will recompile and plan and our characters prepare for a much larger battle ahead.
We’ll simply get to pick a bit further along. Our characters will have room to mature, and possibly adjusted character designs. There’ll be a clear cut second half of the narrative, second part of this history. And i... kind of love that.

2x20 supernatural
Does everyone remember 2x20 of supernatural, and how in deans “perfect life” John was dead? But Mary was alive. And he married a porn Star...
Anyone have any fun theory’s as to why?
Unpopular Opinion
I’m really upset with the 2 songs Twenty One Pilots came back from hiatus with. Like they were gone that long and came back with a cookie cutter mold of alternative music... I thought they were coming back with a bang..
