Adam loosened his collar as he walked into his office. Widow Williamson had talked his ear off about the church bake sale and Adam just could not give less of a fuck if Mrs Gunner bought her lemon squares or if they were homemade. He was exhausted from having to deal with petty people slinging their holier than thou attitudes around like a weapon.
The room was dark when he shut the door behind him, it didn't stay that way for long as candles lining the room and his desk lit up. Lucifer sat upon the heavy wooden desk, wearing just sheer lingerie and a smile.
He never would have thought the devil would be partial to pink, but Lucifer seemed to like it a good deal.
Like a magnet, Adam was drawn to Lucifer. It was hardly the first time they'd met like this, it had been years since he summoned the devil and offered his own soul to save the people of his town. No one had thought the devil would take the deal, but Lucifer had looked at him star struck and his name came tumbling out of the devil's lips in a low hush.
He snapped up Adam's soul and warned the small town that Adam was their saviour and to behave because they wouldn't get a second chance.
Suddenly Adam's empty pews had been filled with the once damned and now he dealt with people trying to out holy each other, Lucifer was a welcome distraction.
Adam slotted easily between Lucifer's legs and Lucifer wrapped his arms around Adam's shoulders and neck. He pressed their lips together with a relieved moan. Adam had missed Lucifer, his spiritual husband, even if they couldn't legalize it when Adam lived.
Going to hell didn't seem too bad, Adam had gone before, when Lucifer took him to the afterlife to show him off to heaven. He was apparently the reincarnation of the original Adam. It didn't mean much to him, not like he remembered anyone, but several angels, and his past life's son, Abel, were all very happy to see him. They were less happy that Lucifer called dibs, but there wasn't anything anyone could do so mostly he just got hugged, a lot.
Lucifer pulled away, that sort of dreamy, star struck look on his face briefly before Lucifer blinked it away.
"I have news," Lucifer spoke with a flirty tone and walked his fingers up to Adam's jawline.
"Yeah?" Adam was curious. Lucifer rarely had news. He might have ruled over the realms of hell, but he seemed to find it boring and hated interacting with people. Said it was way too much pressure as well. So mostly Lucifer just avoided people and thus news.
Picking up a pen from the desk beside him, Lucifer showed it to Adam.
He blinked a couple times looking at it before his brain caught up to him. It wasn't a pen, it was a pregnancy test, a positive one.
"Your-?" Adam was all choked up. They'd been trying the last couple of years. Once Adam died he wouldn't be able to have kids and he'd always wanted kids, just never met someone until Lucifer. And with Lucifer's shapeshifting abilities, it was still hard since angels, even fallen ones, weren't supposed to be having children with humans.
Pulling Lucifer tight to him, Adam kissed the daylights out of the devil.
Lucifer giggled and kissed back before pulling back, "you know, considering the day, don't you have something to say?"
Adam blanked for a moment before a grin broke out across his face. "Happy Mother's Day."
