I was traveling yesterday, so today I'm doing a two for one #marchmeetthemaker. Yesterday was #flatlay and today is #toolsandmaterials 📐🔧🔨 My tools and materials photo is inspired by @humphreyandgrace whose flaylay photos are soooo gorgeous. I wish I had her photography skills. 🏵️💮🌼 One of the things I love about working in stained glass is how simple and basic the tools are. Glass cutter, breaking/grozing and running pliers, and soldering iron are all you really need. I’m combining Day 3 and 4 of #MarchMeetTheMaker: Flatlay and Tools & Materials. The things that attracted me to start needle felting as a hobby were the simple tools and natural materials needed. I liked that all you needed to start was some bits of wool, some barbed needles and a piece of foam (or other felting surface). I also loved the idea that I could sculpt little animal figurines by just poking at wool, and the wool was the perfect texture for making animals. | Flat lay + Tools & Materials | Sorry for having to combine the two days but hey, life happens! Between babysitting our adorable nephew and the snow storm.. social media had to take a back seat. Anywho..These are the tools/materials I use the most..at least in this current season of art making! I enjoy using Sennelier watercolors, Winsor & Newton gouache, Sakura micron fineliners, as well as a mix of colored pencils (prismacolor, caran d’ache luminance and Lyra!) Most of my paintings are on bass or birch wood slices and drawings are generally done on canson watercolor paper. I’m interested in trying other mediums and have a lot of art supplies sitting in our office calling me to come play and experiment! Hoping to get some time to do so in the coming months 😊 is there a medium that you love the most? Or think I should try? I’d love to hear from you!
