M'tendere wanted to move on and escape their past. they were going to get better, be better. jet now has to do that for both of them. and the ruby 7 remembering the song for jet??? broke me. on the floor. incoherency is due to my distraught mental state thx

Arguably, a much funnier aspect that they couldve added to The Tools of Rust is if M'Tendere hadnt died at all, but had been shot and then recovered. The final scene is just them in the medbay harassing the SHIT out of the crew with constant melancholy guitar music. Jet's whole spiel about regrets? Entirely because now there isnt a moment of silence on the Carte Blanche. What's done is done, and the crew will now be listening to the Top Ten Greatest Hits of M'Tendere for the next 2 weeks nonstop.
