@warbyparker invited us to reimagine the handheld mirror for an amazing project that is now displayed in their Greene Street NY and Abbott Kinney LA locations. The mirrors are being auctioned off on @paddle8 for @freeartsnyc āI challenged myself to create a mirror using a singular material and chose brass for it's ability to provide structure and polish to a mirror finish. Other metals could offer similar qualities but I wanted to have the design machined from a thick plate so the handle was more comfortable to hold and brass machines beautifully. This thick mirror profile alone would have been extremely heavy so we milled a recessed relief pattern into the back removing much of the weight while leaving triangular support ribs to ensure the face of the mirror itself did not distort during machining or polishing.
