I refuse to interact with any aspect of Harry Potter whatsoever WITH THE ONE EXCEPTION of the Minerva McGonagall/Tom Riddle ship.
For me, it's the utter unhingedness of it all. At some point it was canon they would've been the same age to go to school together. At some point that changed so there's now a ten year age gap. Her Boggart/greatest fear is literally Voldemort. He literally cannot love. Multiple people looked at this and went "they went to school together and had a rivals to lovers romance and now even though they fighting each other and ideological opposites they've still got a hidden weakness for one another". They've got about ten ship names so everyone thinks they're the only ones who ship it. She is universally agreed to have been the one who anagrammed his name. She left him because she found out about the Death Eaters. She left him because he was abusive. She never left him and has actually been married to the main villain for seven books without it ever coming up. They hated each other. They never noticed each other. She had a one sided crush on him. He was psycho-sexually obsessed with her. They're tragic and doomed soulmates. He corrupted her. She couldn't make him better. She was secretly evil. He was secretly good. They've been divorced the whole time. They've been married the whole time. She kills people. He loved her until he died. She blamed herself for everything he did. He made her into a Horcrux. She tops him. They have 116 works on AO3.

Summary: Tom Riddle is trusted by Albus Dumbledore to lead the Hogwart’s counter-attack troops for a war with Gellert Grindlewald’s army. In the raid squad, Tom only invited the male students. Minerva Mcgonnagal who knew this did not accept and went straight to Tom.
Note: This is my first time posting this kind of thing and english is not my first language, so I hope you guys understand if the language I use in this fic seems stiff and very simple. Also, I’m very sorry if this fic is really short. Hope you guys enjoy!!

"Let me go, Riddle." Minerva said. He repeatedly tried to avoid Tom, but Tom still managed to stop Minerva who wanted to join the counter-attack troops that night.
"Are you crazy?! I won't let you out. You stay here with-" Tom's words were cut short by Minerva's yell.
"With who?!! With other women?!! All of you are so selfish to judge us, "women are so low" until you don't let any of us go to the war!!" Minerva's shout that aimed at Tom managed to make a number of men who were preparing for war sat down.
Hearing Minerva's shout, Tom was silent. He seemed at a loss for words to keep Minerva stay at Hogwarts. Minerva was still glaring at Tom, her anger could no longer be contained. He waited for Tom's answer.
"On behalf of all the gentlemen out there I apologize if our actions tonight seemed like belittling all of you. I just didn't want to-" Tom's words were cut off, he was silent for a moment. Tried to continue the sentence again, but still couldn't. He was silent, staring at Minerva deeply.
"You don't want what?" Minerva asked who also looked into Tom's eyes.
Tom drew closer to Minerva. Suddenly his hand grabbed Minerva's hand, making Minerva quite surprised. He looked at Minerva's hand. Grasping it slowly, then looking back into Minerva's eyes. Close enough.
"I don't want to feel lost." Tom said slowly.
"Again..." added Tom.
At first Minerva didn't understand what Tom was talking about. Tom's sentence is very general, he didn't give any context to the sentence. Tom's eyes still hadn't left Minerva's. Slowly, Minerva understood what Tom meant. Although there is no additional explanation from Tom, but Tom's eyes have explained everything. Tom didn't want to lose Minerva.
So I have A Question. Does Tom know the cat is Minerva??

Tom Riddle wasn't sure how the owl had found him.
The same way they always did, he supposed.
Yet, it seemed downright unnatural; a magical owl belonging to a witch in a Muggle orphanage, only repaired enough to continue barely functioning since the bomb hit it. There were more important things to do.
"I don't have anything to feed you," he told Minerva's owl, yet again, as it skittered around the dusty windowsill and pecked at his hands. When was the stupid animal going to learn?
On the back of Minerva's letter (he didn't have paper to spare and couldn't explain to Mrs. Cole what he needed it for), Tom wrote a quick reply: he was fine, sorry to hear that her brother was drafted, wasn't the war a pain and didn't it look like it was going to drag on forever and was the weather in Scotland as miserable as it was here?
