Tombili (Turkish for the word chubby) was a cat who lived in Istanbul, Turkey

Tombili would sit on the steps shown in the image above and look at passersby, which gained considerable interest from people on the internet and quickly became an online sensation.

Unfortunately, Tombili passed, as all cats do, but was so beloved, and known for hanging out here, that he now has a more permanent fixture where people will leave cat food. I hope other cats are enjoying the tributes that Tombili can no longer take part in.
