An interesting and useful custom worth following:  Whenever you eat fruit, don't throw seeds in the trash. Wash and dry them, put them in a box and keep them in the car. When you're driving, throw them out the window in places where there are no trees. Mother Nature will do the rest. Or throw them around while walking or biking.  This practice has existed for centuries in Asian countries. This is why their fruit grows everywhere now. You actually often see a similar phenomenon in Eastern Europe. While walking in the forest or on the hillsides you often suddenly come upon apples, apricots, plums and pears growing in the forest for everyone to enjoy.

Ghost apples are created when freezing weather coats an apple in ice. Eventually, the apple inside rots and falls out and the icy shell is left behind. Voila, here is your ice apple.

On September 19, 1991, a German couple was hiking in the Austrian Alps when they found a body of what they thought was a mountain climber who accidentally perished...However, it turned out the body had been frozen in the ice for over 5300 years. The body became known as Ötzi, 'The Iceman'. Shockingly, the iceman appeared to have been a victim of a murder and still had an arrowhead stuck in his left shoulder (in addition to many other injuries). A wealth of prehistoric items were found scattered around the body, including a bow with arrows, a copper axe, a flint knife with a woven sheath, fur and leather clothing, shoes, and other small items.

Before the facility was established in 1982, polar bears which were considered dangerous were shot. The facility currently has 28 cells that can hold the bears from two to 30 days. "Repeat offenders' are held the longest based on a premise that extended captivity would create a sense of danger for the bears so that they will be reluctant to approach the town. The bears are not fed during the captivity. Since the bears' natural life cycle involves long periods of fasting, their bodies are adapted to going without food for an extended period of time. During the cold months when the ice in the Hudson Bay has set, the bears are released. They are tranquilized again and transported by helicopter far from the town, hopefully not to be seen again.

Right after birth, the eponychium begins to dry and peel away. Within hours of the foal’s first steps, the soft coverings disappear, revealing the hard hooves underneath.

Furthermore, it is known to carry bacteria that causes leprosy and plays a role in scientific research into the disease.
