15. Do you go down each aisle when you grocery shop, or only the ones you know you need stuff from?
The only time I go down each aisle is if I know I have to feed myself and I have fucking clue what to eat, so I'll just walk until something occurs to me. Other than that, it's just the aisles I need stuff from.
48. If you could build your home from scratch, what outrageous feature would you want to build into it?
It will surprise no one to learn that my answer is a library. Like full on fireplace, cozy chairs, floor-to-ceiling cases LIBRARY.
But I specifically want one that either has a skylight or large windows because I'd like to read by natural light and also curl up in a patch of sunlight sometimes. Also, can you imagine how nice that would sound on rainy days???
Yes, I've given this a lot of thought. I would probably fashion it after the library in Beauty & the Beast.

So I read a lot of fanfic, like a lot, and an unfortunate side effect of that is that the stories can go in and out of my head pretty quickly. Iâm trying to be better at saving quotes and writing mini-reviews on my faves. But almost never does a story hit me as hard as Upon Loveâs Road by Togina/ @toli-a. It checks off all my boxes:
Itâs long. 30K+ words. Long enough to really sink your teeth into. And itâs not an easy 30K words. No, itâs dense and packed with ideas that need to be pondered and cried over and cuddled and re-read. Itâs written like poetry at times, written to puncture your heart with the sharpest needle at others. Which leads me to #2...
Itâs angsty as fuck. Nickyâs gone on walkabout, leaving the rest of the team to figure out why. Except for Joe, who obviously knows why but hates it. The teamâs already in shatters post-Merrick (and Bookerâs back so itâs extra shattered) and theyâve still got to figure out the puzzle and then figure out how to solve it. And itâs messy as hell, with emotions just all over the place. Which makes #3 more amazing....
Perfect characterisations. I mean, to the point where I could see every action and hear every word spoken. Watching these older-than-dirt but thicker-than-mud immortals work through their emotions should not feel as naturally in character as every scene in this story does. Also, as an unrepentant Nicky lover, I hesitated to read this fic at first because I thought his absence would hurt the story. Nope. Perfect characterisation is perfect. He is present on every page, even if itâs just a Nicky-shaped hole. Â
The Big Questions: Itâs got them all. Faith. Purpose. Love. Family. Guilt. Memory. Amends. Choice and destiny. Redemption. Jambalaya.Â
A well-deserved happy ending.
I swear this fic broke me, in all the best ways. In over 15 years in fandom, I can count on one hand how often Iâve been so touched by a story. Iâm forcing myself to read other fic now and Iâm trying to hold out until the weekend to re-read it. But if Iâm being honest, Iâll probably just stay up all night...
tl;dr - Read Upon Loveâs Road by Togina/ @toli-a. Go. Now.
Come fly with me, letâs fly, letâs fly away. Wings, glorious wings! Below are my Top 5 Favorite stories:
*Special Note: Demons, fallen angels, and Fae have their own list and are not included
âTraveling Lightâ (E, 56k) by wearing_tearing
When Steve wakes up, it is a surprise.
The last thing he remembers is the bottom of the lake, sharp teeth and yellow eyes, and the cold pressure of not being able to breathe. But he isnât dead. He didnât drown. He is not in the water anymore.
Instead, he is warm, very much alive, and wrapped in a cocoon of feathers.
Heâs also naked. And with a man lying right next to him.
+ Fantasy AU. Steve gets wings, gets Bucky, gets a new purpose. (and gets to paint for the panthers)
-â-
âThe First Thing About Birdsâ (T, 3k) by SleepsWithCoyotes
Bucky says it's a hazard of the job, but those hazards are different when you've got wings.
+ Pre-WW2. Bucky comes home after a long day at work. Domestic grooming loveliness
-â-
âthe wind beneathâ (T, 1k) by toli-a (togina)
Not everyone had wings - in fact, they were so rare that no one could decide if the winged were part bird, part angel, or merely some Darwinian fly in the ointment. Steve had grown up in the shadow of Bucky's wings, had always believed that having wings meant something. (Like Bucky, Steve's faith wouldn't survive the war.)
+ TFA. Steve goes from two wings to six. Ends at the Valkyrie, so prepare for emotional onslaught
-â-
âletâs go and see the starsâ (T, 2k) by amosanguis
Steveâs wings have always been too big.
+ Pre-WW2 to Post WS. Established relationship and interesting world building. Range 3 wings and above can fly, and Steve is the only one with a range six.
-â-
âChrysalidâ (G, 2k) by IamShadow21
You're not ashamed of them, not really. You just wish that if the serum was going to give you super strength and health and ridiculous head wings, the government would have at least given you something less humiliating to do than parade around in fancy dress.
+ WW2 to Post WS. The wings on Capâs helmet arenât just symbolic
-â-
-â- and a freebie! -â-
âPlungeâ (T, 32k) by leveragehunters
Steve squawked as a hand wrapped loosely around his wrist. He braked, wings banking so hard he almost somersaulted over himself, and surged up and away from the ocean, spinning to find himself staring atâ
A triton was laughing up at him, sharp teeth gleaming in the sunlight. Steve had seen tritons before. He knew what lurked under the water. The power and violence wrapped in muscle and skin.
The triton's grin turned knowing, like he could see what Steve was thinking. "Hey there, Feathers. You want to go for a swim?"
+ Fantasy AU. Reposted from the Writer Spotlight because I absolutely have to. Mer Bucky loves Steveâs wings
Captain America had a voice clearer than a trumpet, sharper than the point of a bayonet at the first charge. (Sarah Rogers had always smiled when Steve came home still brimming with cries for justice, Bucky following behind him with bloodied hands.)
Author: toli-a (togina)
Pairing: Steve/Bucky
Rating: Teen and Up
Word Count: 1270
Whether Steve is adorably tiny or intimidatingly large, Bucky will love him no matter what. Below are my Top 5 Favorite stories where only Steve is a werewolf:
âWerewolf? There Wolfâ (T, 65k) by leveragehunters
After the car accident that cost him his arm and the endless rehabilitation that got him his shiny metal Stark Industries replacement, Bucky's happy for a break from people. The house in the forest is peaceful, town's a fair distance away, and he's got no neighbours...except maybe a blue-eyed wolf and possibly a naked guy named Steve.
(PS: Steve is the wolf.)
+ Modern AU. A 5 part series of Steve and Buckyâs little pack of two. Fluff, crack, kidnappings, cryptozoologists, and whole lot of love.
-â-
âHealth Code Violationâ (T, 14k) by Kryptaria
It's opening day at Kafe Biblioteka and day one of the worst blizzard to hit D.C. in a century. But ten years in the army taught Bucky to deal with anything life threw at him, including zero customers.
Nope. Make that one customer.
+ Modern AU. Steve goes to Bucky for a safe place for himself and his armful of kittens. A bit of Coffeeshop, Only One Bed, Mutual Pining, and Snowed In goodness
-â-
âSafe Havenâ (E, 12k) by DyslexicSquirrel and Kalika_999
Itâs hard out there for a lone wolf.
Steve has been on his own for years, since being banished from his pack, constantly on the move. He was resigned to a life alone.
Until the unexpected swam into his life.
Steve never thought he would meet his mate. He definitely didnât think his mate would be anything other than a wolf. One thing heâs always known, though, is that life is full of surprises.
+ Modern AU. Steve finds his mate, a pack, and a place where he belongs. Featuring Mer Bucky and his underwater blowjobs
-â-
âTales of a Teenage Werewolfâ (T, 1k) by toli-a (togina)
Would it have been so difficult, Steve wondered, to send out a few pamphlets - "So You're a Werewolf!" or maybe, "Becoming a Slavering Beast for Dummies" - to help the unsuspecting human you'd bitten on the last full moon? At least then he might know why he kept ending up in the Barneses' yard.
+ Modern AU. Steve keeps showing up naked at Buckyâs house; itâs less of a big deal than expected
-â-
âOh CapWolf, What A Big...â (E, 5k) by Defiler_Wyrm and velvetjinx
Steve and Bucky have been together a few months now, but Steve keeps disappearing for three days out of the month. Bucky gets curious, and follows him. But what he finds is much, much more than he'd ever bargained for, and he discovers some things about himself that he never knew before.
+ Post WS. Full-shift sex? You got it!
-â-
-â- And a freebie! -â-
âWolfsbaneâ (E, 1k) by the_genderman
In a âmonsters and cryptids are real and live among usâ AU, Steveâs a werewolf, Buckyâs a dragon, and neither of them know this about the other. Some itchiness ensues.
+ Modern AU. Dinner and a hookup doesnât go quite as planned when you have silver-threaded sheets and an extensive coin collection
-â-
*More werewolf fics in the Werewolf Bucky and Both are Werewolves, Peter Parker, and Vampires list

Hello! Thanks for asking, though I'm afraid I might be a little disappointing on these ones...
8. favourite accessory you own?
I assume it's accessory as in clothing and I don't really have any. I've never worn jewellery much and otherwise I dress very simply. I think the closest thing we could call an accessory is that my water bottle is about the same shade of blue as a sweater I frequently wear, which is entirely coincidental but looks nice! Also I've got a pride pin on my otherwise fairly plain backpack but that's as far as accessorising goes. And now I'm thinking about what I could have...
15. any âparanormalâ or unexplainable experiences?
Unfortunately I've been rather boring to anything which might want to mess with me :( The only remotely paranormal experience I've had was doing a session with an ouija board years ago, with a friend. I know logically that it's just subconscious and the movement is entirely people pulling it with their hands, and that it was likely one of my friends anyway, but I'll admit it did unnerve me sufficiently that I can't imagine doing it again! At least, not sober.
Most of my uneasy moments are momentary deja vu, because I rarely dream and when I do, it's always completely mundane things which leads me to wake up and be unsure what was real life and what was in a dream. Not quite the stuff of paranormal thrillers lol
Thank you for asking! And here's the questions, for anyone who wants to send one
