Like one morning he wakes up and he’s just in Tokoyami’s feathers but he can’t get out because Tokoyami’s laying on him and is dead asleep

LMFAO, yes. I absolutely think his quirk activates in his sleep

I even have a HC that his bedsheets are white just to ensure he doesn't accidentally merge with them while he's sleeping.

I feel like he would sleep-merge

Like he would merge into the shadows while he's asleep and wake up in, for example, the shadows under his desk

Or he'll wake up in a different room entirely
