oh no it's fine! i like talking about the show.

for the first question... my least favorite episode of all time is "board girls" and i only plan to watch it again if i want to review it. i might skim parts of the b-plot for fleshing out some girl characters, but otherwise nope, skip it. on a similar note, i never rewatch "mr garrison's fancy new vagina" bc that just has zero redeeming factors. i also skip "stanley's cup" bc it's way too fucking depressing. there's other episodes i don't bother to watch when they're on, but those are the big ones.

as for the second question... woof, i feel like a lot of characters are misunderstood by fandom, and even i've fallen prey to that before. for starters, i feel like people get lazy with wendy sometimes? they either demonize her or make her a total girlboss when i think she can be written from a neutral perspective. even i struggle with writing her without just copying my writing style for kyle, but i know that she can be empathetic and well-intended, even if she's also clingy and stubborn.

i also feel like token doesn't get a lot of character exploration (or maybe i just don't see it?) and i think there's some potential to write him as a more interesting character, especially regarding his isolation as a wealthy kid who seems to resent his own wealth. (i like to pair him with kenny for this reason, and characterize him as very philanthropic when he's older.) canon kind of sidelines him a lot too but i'd like him to get another focus episode where he gets more personality.

First of all, he is not only one of the few POCs, but one of a very small number of black residents in the town. This little dude started off as the only black kid in his town. He really started out at the bottom, and now? His whole team fuckin’ here.

My boy has had Eric Cartman throw a rock at his head, been swindled out of his money, and been shot in the fucking shoulder all because of his skin colour, and that’s not even half of it. Not to mention a shit ton of verbal abuse. And Token’s only ever beaten him up ONCE in the history of the show?? My boy goes to school everyday and refrains from beating the ever loving shit out of Cartman. That. My friends. Is strength.

Talent is his middle name. You want some help with your homework? Token the straight-A student has got you covered. Need someone to sing at your wedding? He has the voice of an angel. Need a bassline to soothe your soul? He can do that too. He plays for the basketball team as well as some other sports team, he’ll dribble that ball and sing you a lullaby at the same time. How’s THAT

And how can we forget? This little powerhouse can transform into TUPPERWARE, the vigilante who WILL save your town whether you fuckin’ like it or not. This bitch can TELEPORT. This bitch can FLY. This bitch can BUILD A FULLY FUNCTIONING TURRET TOWER. Yeah that’s right, he’s also a fuckin’ engineer. And he can do ALL of that......while keeping your food fresh and tasty. Transformers, eat your fuckin’ heart out.

On the subject of alter egos, my boy woke up one day and said “you know what? I’m gonna be a witch doctor today” and guess what? That’s what he fuckin’ did. He became the voodoo master, just because he felt like it. He also became a shaman, a rogue assassin, AND a motherfuckin’ space warrior. All because he felt like it.

You thought I was done? Hooooo son I ain’t done yet. Token’s also a total stud. Confirmed lady-killer. Number #2 on the cutest boy list, baby. Not only that, he can swoop in and steal your girl whenever he pleases. Ya snooze ya lose, Stan.

And to top things off? My boy is also a shape-shifter. He can change his skin colour like a change of clothes. My boy knows what it’s like to be oppressed...AND what it’s like to have white privilege.
