It was great to see and hear many of our families from the Corona Youth Music Project , and that everyone is doing fine. It’s been hard not to be able to connect knowing that our kids and their families are right at the epicenter of the epicenter of the pandemic in the U.S. Adapting to new technology to continue with their remote education, on top of everything else, has made it extra-stressing for many of them. Congratulations to our students Jadira Asitimbay (Trumpet) and Itayetzi Uranga (Horn) for being accepted in the Take a Stand Festival, sponsored by the Los Angeles Philharmonic, this summer.  Jadira and Itzy will be part of the first national “El Sistema” orchestra that will debut in Los Angeles at Disney Hall, under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel on July 22nd.
