So I started reading Tears on a Withered Flower 🥀
Story: You've seen the ads, I'm not describing it. 9/10 At times it is somewhat predictable, but that does NOT mean I am disuaded. I am loving. every. update.
FL, Na Hae Soo: She's not your typical FL who's in college or working in an office. Na Hae Soo is so relateable it's genuinely frightening. Between working herself to death and still not being able to get her head above water, a tired millennial can step into her worn shoes easily. Her world is bleak and monotonous, making the male lead's presence such a welcome one that I'm desperate for it. Na Hae Soo struggles with her self-worth after having loved and lost.
ML, Beom Tae Ha: For the first couple of chapters, it appears as though Beom Tae Ha is stalking Na Hae Soo? While this isn't the best, narratively, it makes sense. Regardless of how their relationship starts--this man is a breath of fresh air for our FL. His youth plays a part in his naiveté, and yet when the manhwa shifts to his perspective, he is filled with longing coupled with a deep-rooted sense of guilt and self-hatred. The only thing better than his complexity is his sincerity towards Na Hae Soo.
Antagonist, Kang Min Cheol: As far as villians go, this man has everything. Kang Min Cheol is the most vile, narcissistic piece of woman-hating trash AND he would be the end game first love for any high school romance manhwa. The author conveys their love beautifully--and then shows us how, little by little, something so sweet turned into a festering mess. Kang Min Cheol is the scariest villian because he doesn't require weapons or magic to show us how powerless Na Hae Soo is in his presence.
Secondary Antagonists, Beom Tae Hee & Beom Tae Ju: The antagonists for this series are our ML's brother and father, respectively. So far in the manhwa, we see that Beom Tae Ha's illegitimate parentage has led to a sibling rivalry resulting in severe injury on our ML's part. It looks as though, despite the aforementioned dubious parentage--Beom Tae Ha is set to inherit the family (crime) business. With Beom Tae Hee set out to cause his brother harm, and Beom Tae Ju thrusting his son deeper into the business, our ML is not in a pleasant situation. How this will play out in the manhwa is yet to be seen, but I am delighted enough to continue reading.
Smut: You want enthusiastic consent? Pull up a chair. While Na Hae Soo is sometimes uncomfortable during bouts of intimacy, this is a direct result of her low self-esteem from being in a bad (abusive) relationship. At the very least, I would consider this consent by deception as Beom Tae Ha's stalking of our FL is not a green flag in the slightest. However, I am intrigued to see if the author brings light to Beom Tae Ha's actions so that Na Hae Soo is not left in the dark as to how their relationship started. The smut itself is breathtaking. I am in awe. The raw sexual energy. The longing. The emotional vulnerability. 10/10.
Note: The guy in the scarf is from another BL comic A Tree Without Roots. I'm not sure if I like it, but go for it, Queen.
Hello! How are you? I know it doesn't appear in your pinned post, but do you still like Tears on a Withered Flower? I saw a post of yours where you mentioned it, although I think it's a bit old. Anyway, as I've become obsessed with this manhwa again, I wanted to see if people were still talking about it on Tumblr... Oh, and I also wanted to share this with you, in case you hadn't seen it yet:

By the way, I also speak Spanish, so feel free to reply in whichever language you prefer. Of course, you don't have to reply if you don't want to. But thanks anyway for reading this! Have a nice day!❣️
Hellooo! Of course i still love TOAWF! it’s not in the pinned masterpost, because i don’t have fanfictions for them unfortunately, or at least not yet. I have a few ideas for my baby Haesoo and Taeha, but i’m not sure how alive this fandom is to read fanfics 😅
I saw the MV! Saw it the day it came out, I was so excited and terrified that Gaenim would call for a hiatus 😩 Have a nice day you too!
