Klaus/Aurora
It's alright. I like the actors' chemistry and it served the narrative purpose it was created for. I kinda love that Aurora outlived him and the ship became relevant in Legacies. Perfect trolling when people expected ships like Klayley/Klamille/Klaroline to be the ones at the forefront if Klaus' romantic past was ever brought up xDD.

So I did a random re-watch of a couple episodes of The Originals last night, and let me tell you something, I am a still very bothered by one scene in particular that I half-watched. You can add it to the list of many reasons why I hate all the Kl*roline scenes in 5x01 (and their scenes in season 5 in general). When Klaus brings up Mikael and the effects that being raised by a monster had on him, C*roline tells him 'that was like a thousand years ago, he's dead, get over it'. Um how about no? Parental abuse is not just something you "get over", no matter how long ago it was or if said parent isn't in your life anymore. Klaus suffered under Mikael for over a thousand years. He scarred him both physically and emotionally, in ways that shaped Klaus into who he is and in some ways that he'll never be able to recover from, even after a thousand years. So that is all just total BS and it pisses me off like no other that she just treats it like it's no big deal now. I mean, yes, Klaus can't still blame Mikael for everything, but he's not just using a thousand years of abuse and suffering as an excuse. I also know that C*roline went through some of her own shit with her dad on TVD, but that was nothing compared to what Klaus faced at the hands of Mikael. She could never even imagine the kind of pain Klaus deals with, so to tell him to just get over it is ridiculous.
So that's my two cents on that subject. I know none of you asked for it, but I apparently still have a lot of feelings about it that I needed to get out.
First Klaus and Hayley had to miss Hope as she lived with Rebekah.
Then Hayley and Hope had to miss Klaus as he was first in Marcel’s hands and then later deliberately stayed away.
Then Klaus and Hope had to miss Hayley, this time irrevocable.
And now Hope has to miss both Klaus and Hayley... forever.
Sooo I’m back after a week vacay and I really needed to break from tumblr tbh, anyway, I watched 5x08 and these are my predictions for the rest of the season
- Elijah is not surviving this season. They’ve made it abundantly clear that Elijah will die. Probably for his family, but die nonetheless.
- Hayley will not return. The huge tributes to her this episode make it very very clear that Hayley’s death was a permanent one. Those with full funerals tend not to make it back onto the show (Cami, Jackson, Finn and now Hayley) Davina never had a full funeral, she had a choppy few frames alongside Cami’s, I think it was always intended for her to come back. Same goes with Kol, he never had a proper funeral because they intended his resurrection. I think the capacity we will see her in from now on will be more flashbacks and maybe a spirit conversation or two, but I dont think she’ll ever return to her corporeal form. The full funeral and an entire episode dedicated to Klaus’ pain over her death solidified it for me that she wont be coming back.
- Rebekah will end this as a human. There is too much reiteration of the fact that she cannot and will never be happy as a vampire. It’s always been her central theme and they really hammered it last episode. She’ll become human someway and leave to live off her human life.
- I’m pretty sure Marcel will also be human alongside her. I think his speech about using the city as a replacement for her means that he’ll finally learn to leave the city behind once and for all and be with Rebekah.
- Klaus wont be around for Hope in the future. There’s been a lot of lamenting on how Klaus has missed out, and how he wants to be there for Hope but he just can’t be. I think some circumstances will lead to Klaus being absent from Hope’s life permanently, but I think that in order to stop rehashing the same story over and over again with Hope and her parents - in that she’s always separated but knowing they’re out there - I think she’ll have closure in the ‘knowledge’ that she will never see her parents again as a stone cold fact, so she wont have to spend the rest of her life fighting and hoping to see them again. I think Klaus will either truly die (his sireline was cut off, so this is a possibility that wont mess up anything for Julie’s spinoff) or he’ll fake his death.
- I think the emphasis on Freya being there for Hope in a mum-like capacity this season is probably to add something to the mix when Keelin announces she’s pregnant. Potentially Freya freaking out that she can’t do it, and Keelin being like “you can” and using her mothering ways towards Hope as an example.
Hayley/Jackson from The Originals

I understand the ship was needed to the plot and to Hayley's character development, but it never did anything for me. I couldn't have care less about Jackson LOL.

How would you sort the rest of the Mikaelson family ?
Sadly, nonnie, the rest of the Mikaelsons sans Klaus never interested me. As a result, their sortings are mostly based on ~vibe and what I remember of them:
Elijah - Badger primary (Family!!!!), probably Bird secondary. A very bad one, because Elijah is a loser, LOL
Rebekah - Badger primary (Humanity!!!), Lion secondary. Which means she house shares with Damon and yeah, I can see it.
Kol - Snake primary who unburns when he falls for Davina (and now I want to rewatch their scenes, damn xDD). Maybe Snake secondary? He gives off Trickster vibes. But I could also see Lion.
Finn - Either Badger or Lion primary from what I remember from him. For some reason I'm thinking Badger or Bird secondary?
Freya - Lion secondary, for sure. I am leaning towards Lion primary as well, but mostly on instinct.
Hope - Snake Lion, IMO. It shows more in Legacies, then in TO.
Mikael - sorted as Double Lion by @nectargrapes
Esther - Again, I am divided between Lion and Badger. Burd secondary.
Top 5 mother-son relationships
This is a but hard because I have to either be veeeery invested in the mother or really like the son and what his relationship to the mother brings to the verse.
1. Randall and Rebecca Pearson - I hope to add Laurel to the mix soon, but for now Randall and Rebecca - R&R- is definetly one of the most enjoyable mother-son relationships out there. It’s heartwarming, but faulty in ways that contribute to the narrative.
2. Jim and Barbara Lake - pretty much in the same vine as Randall and Rebecca. I love the nuance this relationship adds to JIm’s character.
3. Klaus and Esther Mikaelson - this one is on the other side of the spectrum, lmfao. What can I say, I love the fact that Esther is a villain and there is never any “kiss and make up” between her and Klaus. In fact, Klaus actually killed her. Twice!! How can I not like them? xDD
4. Niohuru Zhen Huan and Aisin Gioro Hongli - I am cheating a bit here since their relationship is not really shown that much and Zhen Huan, despite being appointed by the Emperor as his mother (there is a whole story there, pne you can't understand without watching the show, lol), never really gets very motherly to him. Buuut, the last episode sold it for me. I have a few ideas about how their relationship would look like post-series and ...it would probs be difficult but very interesting, imo.
5. The last spot is a contest between Daenerys Targaryen and her dragons, Will amd Elaine Parry and my own OCs Rafael and Eliza Serafium (my second and third OCs evah who I am still developing a true story for).
