I never liked this narrative The Magicians pushed on how Fillory or people and creatures from Fillory (or anyone not of modern time Earth, like The Binder) are super sexist, or otherwise bigoted. It feels a lot like “Civilized” folks VS “Uncivilized” folks. And in light of everything that happened in s4, now is not the time for them to pretend like our world is so much more progressive or whatever the fuck.
I know I said “to hell with The Magicians, I’m not gonna watch season 5” but at this point it’s giving me some sort of pleasure to see the train wreck it is now and to just hate-watch it. Somehow this motivates me to see how much worse it will become over the course of this season and makes me hope it will be universally panned. To the showrunners: ya’ll done fucked up with Q. (Raises a glass) I’ll drink to your failure. 🥂
