Gonna bring up how the heck the movie paintings are possible in TLG

I’m gonna say Royal Mjuzi magic lol

But I lowkey love it

Thinking about the absolute culture shock the Outlanders have with each other bc of their species

What life didn’t tell the majority of the Outlanders is the siblicide that happens with hyena cubs. So when Reirei and Goigoi’s pups start fighting, all the hyenas will inform each other and crowd around them yelling “PUP FIGHT!!!!”. Janja and his friends go the extra mile by placing bets on who’s gonna win. Even Jasiri kinda enables stuff like that cuz it’s normal by hyena standards. With the others, not so much

Despite Kiburi mentioning it a lot, the crocodile way always manages to surprise anyone who’s not a croc. Whether it’s the float not batting an eye whenever seeing some poor hatchling become prey or Kiburi willingly going (and actually having fun) on a waterslide. Crocs always did love waterslides

The Jackals are pretty peaceful in general but apparently they start making high-pitched wails and yaps in the early evening and when “one individual answers another until an unearthly chorus builds up – they also utter a repeated yapping when tailing a predator; a call that sometimes betrays an irritated lion or leopard”. The hyenas and crocodiles find it REALLY annoying

Chungu, Cheezi, and Goigoi were caught off-guard when they saw Tamka swallowing a couple rocks when they went out to eat. They thought Tamka couldn’t tell the difference between what was edible and what wasn’t, so Nduli had to explain that crocodiles eat rocks to help digest their food

Crocodiles also have a little bit of a hierarchy where the biggest crocs get the best basking spots. This is why Tamka gets cocky about where he rests and Kiburi just rolls his eyes and goes somewhere else. If there’s one thing he’s fine with compared to others, it’s that he’s not the biggest. Janja was certain Kiburi would give Tamka a verbal beating, knowing him, so you can imagine his surprise

Janja has seen Mzingo and his parliament pee on their legs when it gets too hot. He doesn’t care that it’s a cooling mechanism, do that shit in private!

Sumu has learned that cannibalism is….not normal amongst other species when it comes to mating. He casually mentions that male scorpions have to have a tight grip when dancing so the female can’t eat their faces. He got some “wtf” looks from the skinks. Even KENGE was weirded out

have some headcanons!

Nirmala loves flowers and sometimes switches them out. Fuli helps with this

Anga and Ullu hang out sometimes and are pretty good friends

Tiifu had nyctophobia because she got extremely scared as a young cub from a spider almost biting her

Some girl’s day out headcanons!

The idea of a girl’s day out in the Outlands was Jasiri’s idea! She’s heard Reirei and Shupavu complaining about how tiring being a leader can get and arranges that they all have a day off and hang out together. Just them. No boys allowed. Does NOT take long for the others to be like “Hell yeah I’m in”

-Nyata and Nyororo definitely tag along too!

Ma Tembo rounds up the other female leaders (Twiga, Vruga-Vruga, and Laini) to chill by the watering hole and just chat about life

Nala, Sarabi, Sarafina, Kiara, Tiifu, and Zuri invite Vitani’s Guard and Timon’s Ma to join them for a spa day at the edge of the Pride Lands

When Kiara asked for the others’ input after she invited Vitani, Sarafina was like “Hmm, what do you think, Sarabi?~” (/hj)

The Pridelanders all share stories about both themselves and the boys. Sarabi and Timon’s Ma have the best ones

It used to be just Rani, Nirmala, and Binga, but they’ve since gladly invited Fuli and Anga to join them. The more, the merrier!

No matter the kingdom, all the girls WILL talk shit about boys. Obviously doesn’t last the whole day but it’s definitely a subject

Jasiri thinks it’s only fair that each of the group gets a turn of what they always wanted to do. Sometimes it teaches them smth new about each other while other times it ends with either someone complaining or at worst getting hurt

Poor Reirei was unfortunately the latter. After an interesting sequence of events, she accidentally fell into a thornbush (same one that Banzai fell into when the hyenas were chasing Simba out of the Pridelands). Jasiri and Madoa were like “Oh no! Are you okay?!” while Shenzi and the skinks were dying of laughter

Speaking of which, Shenzi and Shupavu instantly got along. Shupavu thought Shenzi was gonna be rude like Janja but she was pleasantly mistaken. She’s actually pretty funny

The Outlander girls may or may not have run into the Pridelanders when they were going hunting. Jasiri and Madoa were able to convince Nala and the others that their friends weren’t going to take more than their fair share, thanks to Kiara. Despite that, Shenzi and Reirei still got some REALLY dirty looks from the older lionesses (Poor Ma was terrified)

Shupavu and her cronies weren’t exactly spared either. Vitani’s guard heard all about the skinks’ role during the Dry Season and Tazama stopped them from potentially stealing all the insects nearby for themselves

The Night Pride girls (plus Binga) spent their day helping others, as they do, but honestly it wasn’t as hard as they thought. They do eventually get time to relax by the end of the day

The Guard once asked Kion a bunch of questions on how the Roar works and Kion has yet to answer some of them

Bunga once got Hakuna Matata stuck in everyone’s heads to the point some of them were mumbling the tune while saving Thurston from his bullshit

Beshte is the oldest of the Guard and accidentally treats the Guard like they’re his younger siblings sometimes (#BigBStandsForBigBro solidarity)

Beshte swore once and the entire Guard was floored and never forgot it

Bunga is the most likely to swear the most, dude has no filter

Fuli referred to the boys as ‘brothers’ once and none of them let it go

Kion’s mane started to grow out at the same time Beshte’s hair did a bit

more of an personal AU thing than anything but Bunga casually said Kion’s full name (Kiongozi) once and just never did it again

….meets the OG Hyena Trio

It all starts when the Guard visits Jasiri in the Outlands and they take a little tour to see what’s changed since they left. At some point in the tour, they pass by the Elephant Graveyard (they spot it from a distance). Bunga, being himself, decides to stray from the rest and explore the graveyard despite Jasiri and Janja saying it’s a separate hyena territory. Kion goes after him and one by one, the rest of the guard start to follow

Ono says they shouldn’t be over here and how it could be dangerous, to which Bunga’s like “Danger? We’re the Lion Guard! We laugh in the face of danger! Hahaha!”

Cue a much older Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed trickling out of the elephant skull and just like in the first movie,

“Well well well Banzai, what have we got here?”

“I dunno, Shenzi….what do you think, Ed?”

*Ed laughter intensifies

Shenzi says that Kion looks just like his dad and Kion’s all “you knew my dad?” and Shenzi’s like “Oh yeah, he did the exact same thing you’re doin’ right now”

The parties learn two things: The OG trio learns that Simba has cubs now and the Guard (mainly Kion) learns the king/dad was kind of a troublemaker as a cub

When Kion explains that they’re the Lion Guard, Banzai’s like “you still have those?” and “what kinda lion guard has one lion?”

Fortunately for the guard, Janja and Jasiri catch up to them and prevent what would have been a fight. When Kion asks how they know the trio, they get an unexpected answer from Janja

“*sighs* That’s my mom”

Fuli can 100% believe that Ed is Cheezi’s dad. The resemblance is uncanny

Ono’s also terrified of Ed and the og trio in general judging by the fact that they used to work for Scar

Beshte’s more interested in the history aspect and how the trio “must have so many stories to tell!”

Beshte also asks the most questions cuz he’s invested now lol

And BOY do they have stories cuz they can recount EVERYTHING from the time they met a young Simba to how Scar’s reign used to be (Nala doesn’t like talking about it) to the final battle

Banzai will not admit it but Anga’s stoic gaze lowkey freaks him out

Banzai also mentioned the birdie boiler. Ono doesn’t know what it is nor does he WANT to know

Shenzi kinda likes Fuli. She’s feisty :)

Not Bunga learning the details about Timon and Pumbaa during the battle

Bunga: My Dad Uncle Timon told me how my uncle Pumbaa beat you up!

Shenzi: Oh yeah? Did he tell you he actually proposed to me?

Bunga: :0

Say what you want about Hazbin Hotel but “Gravity” is 100% Zira-coded

And of course we can’t forget her signature song

Day 2: Royal Family / Siblings

The night pride royal family!

I’m late by a day once again but this time it’s cause of the absolute scale of work this took.

This drawing was an absolute BEAST to tackle. 73 layers, EVEN THOUGH Rani was made in a different canvas. (And Baliyo partially.) Just over 8 hours of drawing.

You can TELL when I ran low on energy pretty easily.

I’ll be making a separate post for Baliyo eventually. He’s quickly becoming one of my favourites, when I noticed some details while drawing him.

Janna, in my canon, is just a little bit older than Sarabi, Mufasa, and Scar. And she would have met them during the beginning of Mufasa’s reign. This is also when Rafiki and Janna meet, and would go on to become friends. She invites him to come to the tree of life so he can learn and become a proper Mjuzi, as Milele did not have anyone able to teach those skills.
