I have reached the stage when I started to write my own fics on ZGL/Liu Bei and Red Cliff ZGL/Zhou Yu, BUT I will not post them online because 1. it’s all abomination to both fandoms as I am a complete twat with pretty much zero knowledge about the “right” behavior in certain situations at that era AND I don’t want to disrespect the only two english speaking fans that I know of, because they both obviously know their stuff and I have great respect for both of them.
While I wish there was a possibility for us to discuss the possible alternatives for episode 56 of TK2010, because let’s be honest - there are so many possible alternatives in which this could have went down and goddamn it I wish Liu Bei was a bit more involved. It was so emotionaly exhausting for Kongming and I liked Akial’s take on that episode with her fic (which unfortunately disappeared :< ). I mean, when I first watched it, I did expect him to harm himself or just collapse, because the way he just broke down when he heard that Liu Bei is back, I thought that was it for him, he already sounded suicidal at the beginning of the episode (all like “Yeah, I’m probably gonna die, but I don’t mind” like, BRO ;-;) What if the brothers DID hurt him ? Liu Bei was literally nearing the gates by then and if they rushed out to meet him and ZGL just like, freaking limped away with his buddy, jfc, my feels.
I don’t think there’s anyone who didn’t feel sorry for Kongming during the time he was in charge, while Liu Bei was absent. He constantly looked like he was about to cry and I don’t blame him. To reach a point that you find it odd that you are not being BULLIED, that’s just devastatingly sad. I don’t know, I just expected a bit more from Liu Bei, even if he didn’t witness the abuse, he had to know just how far would these two brutes go and he should have known when he saw just how visibly UPSET Kongming was by the time he saw him and honestly, the little “comic relief” where they kidnap him ? First you abuse the guy, you spit insults at him, you make him think that you’re gonna kill him and then you freaking HUMILIATE him in front of his LORD, by picking him up and literally kidnapping him ? Talk about loyalty to the top, the amount of disrespect Kongming went through would be enough for others to just bail out.
