I think I (and by I, I mean my #21stcclc students) won #election2016 Not only were they phenomenal guests at @tjmonticello completely engaged answering and asking questions, {for 4 and a half hours} but they were able to learn about Thomas Jefferson as a whole. They were able to learn about some great things he did for our country, and also some of the bad things in his life, but that is what makes TJ who he was. You can't only teach the good or the bad, they go hand in hand. Just because we disagree with the bad/horrible, does not mean we shouldn't respect him for the great things he did. I say all that to say, no matter the outcome after tonight, though you may disagree with those around you, respect is key. If a group of 8-11 year olds can understand that, I think 18 years old and up can {hopefully} fully grasp that concept. And yes my #tjselfie is on point. We were talking about our love of French things. #ouiouimonami . . . . #monticello #thomasjefferson #fieldtrip #ivoted #thomasjeffersonscominghome #historyhasitseyesonyou #history (at Thomas Jefferson's Monticello)
