Quick synopsis of my upcoming fantasy whump series! Lisl, a maiden in yee fairytale times, is about to be married off to the village goatherd. Her hesitance to grow up becomes all the more complicated when she begins to hear a voice from the mountain, warning her that if she doesn't help him appease the mountain goddess, her village will wither away. As the trees rot from within and the cornstalks twist into hideous creatures, Lisl realizes she can't keep the mountain's guardian waiting forever... (TLDR: fairytale whumpee/whump, nonhuman caretaker, nonhuman whumper. Lots of psychological stuff, bloodletting, telepathic whump. Sibling abuse. Coming-of-age. Trauma Bonding turned Healthy Love.)

I am by no means a Christopher Nolan fan, not by a long shot. Aside from the Dark Knight trilogy and Oppenheimer, I don't particularly enjoy his 3-hour-long epics that leave my bladder wanting to burst before the credits even roll.

For The Odyssey, however, I loved it, setting aside the petty arguments about castings and forgetting that Odysseus' journey had many, many more obstacles - I really enjoyed the story beats and the narrative structure; it had the same type of flash-forward, flash-back scheme as Project Hail Mary.

In any case, I was only halfway through the movie when I realized, OMYGOD, I have to make this into a Mandalorian fanfic, especially with a gender twist!

Working Summary:

Bo-Katan, Mand'alor of a peaceful Mandalore, answers an old ally's plea and sails with twelve starships to fight against a First Order Remnant in the Unknown Galaxy (of Ahsoka's Peridea) after they have kidnapped the New Republic's Chancellor Poe Dameron's wife, Helena.

She wins it with a clever gambit, but throws away her homecoming chasing a rumored lost covert. What follows is twenty years of monsters, witches, and Force-haunted darkness, a Cyclops-shepherd, the Laestrygonian cannibals, a dark-sided witch Circe, the Sith Sirens, an Exogorth Scylla and black hole named Charybdis, Helios IV, that take her fleet, her crew, and every piece of the armor that ever protected her, until she crashlands on Calypso's moon and loses even her memory for seven years.

Back home, Din has a fragile grip on the throne and refuses to declare his beloved Mand'alor dead while the second-generation of upstart clan leaders circle like suitors and a civil war breaks out.

I have the next Murder Tortoise fic ready to post, I just can't decide on a title - so I thought I'd outsource the decision! For context, the next story will be from Wen Qing's POV and take place in a Wen village (post-Sunshot)
