tiny scene prompt? i’m not sure if i’m doing this right but i would love to see something with kris + guilt + a dawn :) or pick one of those and take it wherever you like!
[@rodentwrites]
ooh, this is good, this is very good!! Thank you, Harrison!
Note: this scene is um, vaguely suggestive, so keep that in mind. Nothing explicit in the slightest, tho!!! I promise!! (I would die. This is embarrassing enough as it is, for me and Kris.)
Also, this got a little longer than expected, so it's not so tiny anymore.
scene under the cut!
Kristopher woke slowly, his eyes cracking open as weak early morning light shone through the window. His head was pounding, and he reached up, massaging his brow. Sitting up, he looked around.
He didn't recognize the room, but that wasn't unusual. Not recently, anyways. Not since... he shook his head. No point in bringing up bad memories. It was too early, and he was too sober.
The door creaked open and a young man entered, carrying two steaming mugs. Kristopher looked at him closely. He was attractive, certainly. But that wasn't why they'd wound up here.
Crossing the room, the man took a seat on the bed, holding out a mug. Kristopher took it, letting the warmth ease into his fingers. It was only the first of March, and Westcliff remained bitterly cold well into spring. Even the castle was cold and drafty, and this was no castle.
Slowly he took a drink, eyeing the other man over the top of his cup. What was his name? Had he ever asked? The warm liquid rushed down his throat, the steam helping to clear his head. "Thank you," he said, than paused. He'd never quite figured out what to say now, when they would remember it.
"Dorian. My name is Dorian." The man smiled. "I don't think you ever asked." Kristopher nodded. He needed to go, leave the handsome boy and his warm drinks behind. But he dreaded going back to the castle, seeing the scorn on his parents' faces. If they even looked at him.
Handing the mug back, he got to his feet, searching the room for his shirt. "I have to go," he said. The words sounded hollow, even to his own ears.
"Is there any chance I'll see you again?" Kristopher froze, fingers hovering over the last button of his shirt. He hated this part.
"No, I don't think so." Not if I have a choice, he thought.
It wasn't just that he didn't want to see Dorian again, it was that he couldn't. For both their sakes.
"I'm sorry," he said, a moment too late. He wasn't sure what made him say it, if it was the look in Dorian's eyes, or the leftover alcohol in his veins. But he regretted the words the moment they left his mouth. Don't ever let them see you have a heart.
"Me too," Dorian said, words barely above a whisper. Neither of them said anything while the Prince slid on his boots and put on his belt. Kristopher caught the young man staring at him more than once, but he always looked away.
When Kristopher was dressed, Dorian spoke again. "There's a way down off the balcony, if you'd rather not use the front door."

Hiya Morri!!
Ashlin + road trip (from your random ask game hehe)
Hi Midnight!! Happy STS! (although this is really more of a tiny scene Sunday thing, but i don't care. I'm just happy about getting asks, lmao.)
Scene under the cut!
Ash stared at Dorian, eyes narrowed. He fidgeted uncomfortably under her gaze. "So, um, what do you say?"
"You want me to take you from here, all the way to the eastern border. While being chased by wolf-spirits. Have you lost your mind?"
Dorian flinched. "Please. I need to get out of the kingdom."
Ashlin scowled. "And that's my problem how, exactly?"
"Now that you've met me -- that you know I'm alive -- Lenora won't exactly be eager to let you go. She's going to be hunting you down too."
"She won't be able to find me."
"She might not be able to, but what about a pack of wolf-spirits?"
Ashlin swore loudly. "Okay, fine." They threw their arms up and turned, rounding on the Prince. "I'll take you to the foothills, but that's it. No further. I have a life of my own."
Dorian nodded. "Thank you," he trailed off, realizing that he had never bothered to ask their name.
Hiya Morri!!
For Tiny Scene Sunday: Ashlin + forest hehe
Hi Midnight!! Happy tiny scene sunday!!
Note: tw for birds, I guess. Specifically dive-bombing birds.
scene under the cut!!
As Tamsyn plodded through the trees, Ash stared at the canopy above her. So many trees. And all they seemed to do was get in her way. If not for this stupid forest, and the lack of roads, she could have been to the foothills in half the time. Well, maybe not half. But close enough.
Every time a branch snapped or the leaves rustled, Ash found themself turning around, trying to locate the source of the noise. Noise is normal, they reminded themself. Noise is good. But noise can also cover up someone sneaking up on you, nagged another part of her brain. The rational part.
A bird cawed loudly, so close it must have been directly behind her. Ashlin spun around to see a large bird swooping down at her. With a cry, she ducked, hunching over Tamsyn's withers. They didn't need to signal the mare to speed up, for she was already breaking into a canter.
The cawing faded behind them, and after a minute or two Ash dared to sit up. Looking back down the path, they saw it was empty. No sign of the bird that had swooped down. With a sigh they slowed Tamsyn to a walk. Stupid birds.

The master at miniatures, Tatsuya Tanaka keeps cranking out amazing tiny scenes, one for each day of the year. The amount of creativity and craft to create so many clever miniatures is really impressive. Below is a snapshot of a month’s worth of miniatures, each one a clever creation on its own. When compiled as a daily calendar for an entire year, it’s clear that Tanaka is one of the most…
Hi Joy!! I'm pretty sure I sent you a TSS ask?? Maybe?? Anyways, here you go!
Note: I got a bit distracted, so there's not so much about light. Sorry!
Scene under the cut!
The ball was in full swing, and all around Fallon there were people talking, laughing and dancing. Their shoes clicked on the polished marble floor, and their voices carried in the large room, blending together til they formed a gentle ocean. Fallon watched the whole scene, her mind wandering.
It had been more than half a decade since the Palace had last hosted a ball. Fallon smiled softly. It felt right, seeing the room so full. Like coming home and seeing a familiar face at the door, or sinking into your own bed. The ballroom, with its ornate fireplace and shining floor, had been empty for too long. It was built for parties, not dust.
The warm summer air floated in through the open balcony doors, and gentle candlelight bathed the room in a warm glow. There were so many people, dressed in so many colors. Somewhere nearby, a woman laughed, light and airy. Elsewhere, glasses came together in a toast.
A light tap on Fallon's arm made her jump. "Pardon me, Your Majesty," She turned and saw Hermes standing at her side, dressed in a suit of purple velvet, embroidered with gold thread. He extended a hand. "May I have this dance?"
Fallon looked down at him for a moment, examining the wreath of golden leaves in his hair. As he tilted his head to look up at her, the leaves shimmered, and she realized they were made of finely pressed metal. "Your Majesty?"
Captain Xavier Blackthorne meeting a kitty? If that counts as a tiny scene prompt? ( ˊᵕˋ )♡.°⑅
It does in fact could as a tiny scene prompt!! I hope you enjoy the result. :D
Fun Fact: Today is international cat day, so it's a perfect time to post this! :D
Meow!
Captain Blackthorne whirled around, searching for the source of the noise. A flicker of movement caught his attention and he turned to face it. A small ginger cat was walking towards him, emerging out of the tall grass that bordered the training yard.
It opened it's mouth and meowed again, loudly. Slowly, Captain Blackthorne set his sword on a nearby bale of hay. He took a tentative step towards the cat.
"Hello?" The word came out as more of a question than a statement. "Do you want something from me?"
Meow!
The cat took another few steps closer, it's tail sticking up in the air, straight except for the tip, which curved gently.
The Captain bent down, reaching out a careful hand. The cat meowed once more and picked up the pace, prancing over to the Captain. It sniffed his hand for a moment before headbutting his hand.
Blackthorne smiled and gently scratched between the cat's ears. "Is that what you wanted?" He asked quietly. The cat purred in response and nudged his hand again.
Still petting the cat, the Captain settled himself cross-legged on the ground. The cat came closer, rubbing against his knees, purring loudly.
