Wizard of Oz AU ft. A knight of the seven kingdoms
Main character Egg is Dorothy
Tin man Dunk
Scarecrow Raymun

Egg is Dorothy but instead of going to a different realm he falls onto a magical island placed under a curse by the evil wicked witch of the west
He is still transported by a tornado tho.
The Targaryens and Co. are going to a tourney in the Reach (idk but I always akin the reach to the American Midwest😌)
Egg is trying to avoid Aerion but while hiding by the roots of the biggest tree he’s ever seen
The clouds turn and while Egg is running he is swept away desperately clawing to the safety of an exposed elm tree root.
While spinning endlessly he is somehow able to climb into a shack and bunkers in one of the corners crying.
He startles awake to a still shack and bright light peeking through the split wood.
Walking out Eggs first sight is an explosion of bright colors.
A group of colorful strangely dressed smallfolk greet him
“He did it!”
“She’s gone!”
“He killed the wicked witch of the east!”
“We’re free!”
Their ears aren’t as sharp as stories of the children of the forest and their skin doesn’t glow like any god he’s heard described.
Egg doesn’t think they’re human not really, human like maybe
Their eyes are too big, with round teeth and they’re all a bit short. Like a stump almost.
Like when he made a bowl out of river clay used his fingers to pinch it tall only for clumsy little Rhae to fall on it getting up to reveal something with the impression that it once had height.
The munchkins cheer.
Egg is very very very confused
He is not in the seven kingdoms anymore.
Not sure if this is a dream of some sort or if hes woken up in some very distant part of the nine kingdoms.
“Or maybe I’ve finally gone mad.” He mutters while watching a goat walk on its hind legs carrying a bucket of water from a well.
He introduces himself as Ser Egg(if this is a dream he wants it to be a good one)
None bat an eye at his odd name or his age or anything as adults should when a strange child falls from the sky.
The confusion stays with him while he is led to the yellow brick road after being told to find a wizard to return home
“Don’t worry he’s the good wizard of Oz.” A fatherly muntchkin man with a sweet smile reassures him when Eggs eyes widen.
They pack him with food and supplies and he is off
Freeing a rusted tinsman is his first official quest as a knight.
The tinsman stands as tall as the trees he’s meant to fell and wider than an aurochs.
“
“S’pose so Ser Egg. All evil looks the same.” Dunk
Egg protests this. “Aerions a cruel prince who delights in the pain of any he can get away with.”
The scarecrow Raymun pipes up “You think the witch was any different? There’s a reason they cheered for you boy.”
Dunk the tinman once Ser Duncan the Tall a real knight a knight that sworn to the Queen of Oz a knight that was truly good and not just a man with a big knife and shiny armor
Egg suddenly felt sick if he hadn introduced himself as a Ser mayhaps Dunk would let him squire for him teach him everything he knew
(He doesn’t think it’s a dream anymore not with how real the pain feels)
But he can’t admit it now can’t let the truth of himself poison the new friendships he’s mad in this strange place.
“They say she wasn’t always like this. Either of them. That they were kind once. But past goodness don’t erase future terror.”
Egg nods agreeing his Ser Dunk was so wise
