Round 2: Match 5
Love Ball vs Timer Ball
Love Ball
Timer Ball
Love is in the air? Well, maybe? It could be Time instead!
The Love Ball absolutely swept the Park Ball in Round 1, earning more votes than any other Ball that Round! Could it be the pretty pink colours? Could it be that people just love love? But it now has to prove itself against a very reliable favourite!
The Timer Ball won almost 2:1 against the Heavy Ball, and as it gets going, it should only get stronger, right? Well this match will be the judge of that! Can it prove effective against the Love Ball's charms?
It’s been a few years since I’ve done a gym-leader-sona. I’m really happy with how this turned out!

Pokemon Card of the Day #2435: Timer Ball (Sun & Moon)
Timer Ball was a luck-based Item. Cards like this usually had to be powerful to see any play, though this was one case where there was a better than average chance of getting something positive. There were 2 coin flips here, and each heads let you search your deck for an Evolution Pokemon to put into your hand. A 75% chance to get a Pokemon was pretty decent, though not exactly reliable, and there was the 25% chance to miss... but also a 25% chance to get 2 Pokemon.
Decks that focused on Evolutions could make use of Timer Ball even if there was some luck involved. While by no means a staple, the card did show up in a decent number of lists, especially in Zoroark-GX decks that also used another important Evolution line. That could mean Lycanroc-GX, Golisopod-GX, Alolan Ninetales-GX, or Decidueye-GX, to name some examples. Any deck that didn’t need to access a large number of Evolutions could typically rely on drawing and the likes of Ultra Ball instead.
On the one hand, quick balls are fun and can be easily used on low level Pokemon.
But on the other, the feeling of paralyzing a legendary and just switching your Pokemon around for like 30 minutes just to toss a timer ball at it is BDE
