Arceus wants Alder to prove that he can keep up with his Chosen One. And that is by helping people start to settle in the past.
Alder accepted the task. He wants to stay with Jen and understand the weight of her tasks.
However he did not expect to be put on Mt. Coronet after he 'disappeared' in the past and be standing right next to Jen right when she returns from her trip. Much less seeing Ingo who vanished a few months ago.
