“DOING ROAD WORK UNDER RELIEF PLAN,” North Bay Nugget. November 30, 1932. Page 2. ---- Gang of City Unemployed Given Jolts to Build Timber Bridge ---- The City Works Department has a large force of men engaged at removing rock at the corner of Ann street and Roe avenue and at the intersection of Princess and High streets. The operations were recently authorized by City Council to provide work for unemployed residents.
Another small force is engaged at building a timber bridge across Chippewa Creek at the foot of Worthington street. The abutments have been put in and it is expected the stringers will be laid today or tomorrow. This replaces a foot bridge and will be capable of supporting five or six ton.
