Originally and interchangeably referred to as the ‘Tinkerhook’ AU because the ship is the main differentiator between my au and @freakazoidsreverseau ‘s reverse au.

Well among many other things lmao.

It can also be considered my personal rewrite, but mine mostly delves into the events prior to the movies/books and the in between bits of D3 and DRoR.

At its very basics, it goes a little bit like this…

Once upon a time, young James Hook and the future Queen of Hearts met and had a secret relationship, one they told only very few about. Unfortunately, due to greater circumstances—they had to part ways after graduation from Merlin Academy, still promising to correspond each other with letters.

The following years, Bridget rose to the throne of Wonderland and Hook returned to Neverland to avenge his hand from Peter Pan. There he met a fairy by the name of Tinker Bell who found herself to be as lonely as he was. Between the fighting and sailing and the drinking, Hook took notice that Bridget had stopped answering his letters. So he traveled to Wonderland to see if his heart had truly been lost to another. To add fire to his misery, Bridget went ahead with the wedding to her King of Hearts and he returned to Neverland a broken man.

But he wasn’t the only soul who had been tortured by fate’s cruel design, as Tinker Bell found herself replaced with a little girl in a sleeping gown, banished away from Peter Pan for the mere crime of disliking the child who’d been taking her best friend away from her, (among other things)… it wasn’t long before the two began an affair that not only went against both of their dwindling dignities, but against a code that did not yet exist in either of their minds.

A code that kept villains away from loving heroes, and vice versa.

This tie was not born out of the usual type of affection, but out of a need for understanding and companionship. Both of their hearts belonged to others (a queen of hearts, a dust keeper pixie), and they were well aware that their bond was doomed from the beginning. Nevertheless, that did not stop them from making the most of their time together in a place where neither felt the need to grow up.

To make a long story short, it didn’t take much before their actions began to have some consequences. Namely in the form of a future captain who would become attached to the bottle and trained in crocodile combat. But that is getting a bit ahead in the story—for she wouldn’t be their only little mishap, followed by a future hooked eyeliner-wearing first mate and an upcoming blonde pirate princess with a mind all of her own. Yes, their children would carry on the Hook name and become some of the most feared around the Isle of the lost, but unbeknownst to many… they weren’t only pirates, but fairies as well. Half pixies, to be exact.

But there is this other issue—a choice that Tink had to make thanks to her indiscretions with the pirate. Join the rest of the heroes in the Auradon, or be banished with Hook and their children in the Isle… the answer to this question may shock many… but let’s say that’s not a family thanksgiving dinner any of us want to attend.

Years later, Tink married Terence and together they had Tilly. (You may remember her from reverse au posts but she actually originates from this au, well originally from my crazy dream but for this au in particular).
