Ur fav, Jessica Cruz and Hal Jordan fluff. :3
Not true fluff but I left you hanging for so long and I had this in my drafts so....
Carol twirled, her dress flaring around her. Eyes on her. But not his. He wasn't even in the room anymore. It was raining outside, she could hear the crack of thunder barely muted by the music.
She stopped, then started her search. Leaving the room and wandering halls.
Eyes pricking with frustrated tears she sagged against a door which gave way at her sudden weight, opening to a hallway. Intrigued, she kept walking. She made it to the door at the end of the hallway, ajar and spilling yellow light so unlike the led purple of the party. This felt like an actual hone. She peeked inside, thinking this would be a good place to settle her nerves. She could use a place to relax-
Jessica Cruz, she was in a sports bra and leggings. Her athletic jacket draped over her shoulders. Her legs were crossed and her eyes were laughing.
“You are such an idiot,” she told him, grinning.
He looked up from his phone, a wide grin on his face. “Hey, I’m not the one that decided to go out for a jog ten minutes before a thunderstorm.”
“I didn’t check the weather,” she protests sourly. “Besides, I would have made it back home if you didn’ insist I stop by for...what was it again? The best vegan brownies of my life? I never got my brownies.”
“I admit I used a bit of trickery,” that same smile. Carol stared at it, fascinated. Hal never smiled like that before. That widely. Maybe...she grasped it desperately...he was only smiling like that because there was only platonic-.
Jess harrumphed and flopped backwards onto the bed- oh, they were in a bedroom.
Jealousy reared it’s ugly head but she kicked it down. Curiosity dominant. She was a big girl, she could hold herself together for context.
“Aha!” Hal clapped his hands, his phone muffling the sound a bit but the excitement was there. “I found the perfect song.”
Jess rolled so she was now front first facing the bed, her voice was muffled but discernible. “Such...an idiot..”
A song started playing, he set the phone down. Walked to her, and dragged her to her feet. “C’mon babe,” he cajoled, “dance with me.”
Carol sees red after that.
Her body trembled- because how dare she?
How dare she?! SHE SAID SHE DIDN’T LIKE HIM, THAT THEY WEREN’T TOGETHER THE COUNTLESS TIMES CAROL HAD PRIED.
And here she was, smiling as he led Jess to her feet. Laughing when he isn’t sure where to put his hands. Here she was, resting her forehead on his shoulder. He pulls her closer and they danced cheek to cheek. Soft shuffling. His hands on her hips, her arms wound around his neck.
