Day 18
Yoga day, if you can call it that. It's so tough and you spend so much time in plank, it kills my hands as they drive into the floor. I did feel opened up and am noticing more flexibility. I have extra long legs, so I am not sure if I will be able to touch my toes with straight knees and a flat back, but I can touch my toes with just a tiny knee bend.
The worst part of the workout is the last couple of minutes where there is a heavy ab emphasis. I think Mike Karpenko gets a little bit too much into regular workout mode as the reps come quicker and there is less holding like in yoga. And the last false end where he adds on four reps of an additional workout and asks you to hold at the end is simply cruel.
The nutrition is going good. I am definitely more conscious of what I put in my body. Even when I get a cheese burger, I make sure that it is cheddar cheese and a wheat bun. My portions have changed dramatically since I have freed myself from the need to eat everything simply because it is there or it tastes good.
Tomorrow is legs and back and the second day in a row where I will have to wake up earlier than normal to do the workout, so we'll see how that goes.
Day 17
Plyo! I hate you Mike Karpenko for making this workout so difficult. It's so fast paced and makes my legs burn. I did not do every single rep and I am not sure I ever will be able to on this workout. It is just that tough.
On the bright side, I did every rep of the killer move. The first 30 seconds were jump tucks and the second 30 seconds were jump tucks with a double jab between. At the end of the workout, my legs were drenched with sweat just as much as my core.
The nutritional aspect has been going really well. I've been drinking a ton of water and been able to increase my will power against overeating at meal times and extra eating in between. I have been having lots of fruit and making sure I get protein with every single meal. My normal weakness has been late eating which I have been able to avoid all together.
Tomorrow is yoga, so I am looking forward to that. Oh, wait. I forgot that it's yoga XT. We'll see how it goes.
Day 16
Today I did every single rep of the strength and force upper body workout. This is my first workout where that was the case. I feel very much like I have broken through a wall. I'm sure there will be more to come, but I am excited for this one at this time.
The ab workout added on was a different story. It was a killer. I think I might be able to do it better if that were the only workout, but with it being attached to another workout, it is tough. Maybe next time I will try it before the other workout. I think I have to fight through more on the ab workout, but I always feel like I am going to throw up or have an asthma attack because of the contraction in the stomach and chest area.
I am definitely more aware of my nutrition intake after an in depth look through the guide. I am eating healthier and listening more to my body. Tomorrow is the dreaded pylo workout, so we will see if I am able to do every rep then.
