Day 64
Today was Competition Core. The workouts are all starting to blur together. During the warm up, I thought, "I think I did this just a few days ago." Not much to say about this workout. It was a pretty typical core workout with lots of crunches, knee strikes and other moves that work the abs and obliques. The hardest moves were the plank hip rotators and the Orlie up downs, which are back and forth between plank and standing with a hop, all with one leg elevated.
Nutrition was good today. I had my favorite salad from Texas Roadhouse today. Just a grilled chicken salad, but always seems really fresh and I love how much egg they include.
Ripped Conditioning + Abs is tomorrow, so, with the blue band upgrade, I may not be able to type my blog tomorrow, as my arms may have decided to protest the workout.

Day 18
Yoga day, if you can call it that. It's so tough and you spend so much time in plank, it kills my hands as they drive into the floor. I did feel opened up and am noticing more flexibility. I have extra long legs, so I am not sure if I will be able to touch my toes with straight knees and a flat back, but I can touch my toes with just a tiny knee bend.
The worst part of the workout is the last couple of minutes where there is a heavy ab emphasis. I think Mike Karpenko gets a little bit too much into regular workout mode as the reps come quicker and there is less holding like in yoga. And the last false end where he adds on four reps of an additional workout and asks you to hold at the end is simply cruel.
The nutrition is going good. I am definitely more conscious of what I put in my body. Even when I get a cheese burger, I make sure that it is cheddar cheese and a wheat bun. My portions have changed dramatically since I have freed myself from the need to eat everything simply because it is there or it tastes good.
Tomorrow is legs and back and the second day in a row where I will have to wake up earlier than normal to do the workout, so we'll see how that goes.
Day 14
Cardio was intense.
Today I was extremely irritable and I blame Mike Karpenko and the TapouT XT team. Cardio and Abs in the same day is like murder. I got to the end of my cardio workout, was hot, soaked with sweat, and exhausted. Then I had 20 minutes of abs left to go.
I am also becoming increasingly aware that there are very few nutritious options when eating out. That is why I will be taking the next two days off to sync my schedule with the TapouT schedule and to spend extra evaluation time on nutrition guide and planning. I am looking forward to the days off, but I am also dreading Monday when I start it up again. I am also aware that I have a softball game Monday night, so Tuesday may be especially difficult as well.
