I went into a massive downward spiral on Monday because a friend at work- who I trained - as been made a manger and she’s younger than me and been in the business less time. I am still learning. Her success is not a reflection on me. (she actually applied for the job and I did not. And she has managerial experience. And she has two little boys and is a single mum so I want her to have good things. I just get grumpy.)

Hardest part of growing up for me has been learning that the idea that there are milestones I should be hitting in adult life - buying a house, getting married, having a baby - and an age I should be hitting them at is a fiction.
I haven’t been able to learn that yet. I always compare myself to others and worry about getting too old for everything. (Apart from fandom. I don’t worry about getting too old for fandom...)
