this morning i saw six parakeets flying in formation on the right side of the sky and since you're An Augur do you know what this means? are the omens good?
WELL usually the Romans only considered certain birds indicative of a sign from the gods- birds of prey, mostly eagles, including vultures, ospreys, owls, and separately corvids (not counting the sacred chickens, there are some exceptions, etc)HOWEVER since parakeets are Australian using Roman Rules it could be seen as an unfavorable prodigy indicative of divine displeasure since they of course they should never have been in Rome (some parrots called parakeets are South American but the point stands). If you want to take them as a bird of omen anyway because we Aren’t in Rome the omens are still… not good because birds approaching from the left are usually favorable and from the right well… If I remember correctly Livy says Remus saw six vultures in formation when he took the auspices to determine who would rule Rome- and well that didn’t end well either
what are your favourite lines from shakespeare?
The entirety of Julius Caesar. But for some reason I’ve always sort of been drawn to the lines Now is that noble vessel full of grief / That it runs over even at his eyes. I think of that when I cry.
Also ? I love it when Cassius rants about Caesar. Spill that tea, Cass.
ask me stuff
@tibgracchus replied to your post: what would you guys wear at a vintage themed...
toga praetexta
actually thought about this lol
since you know away more than me about the optimates. did any of them get Notably Murdered? i can only think of murdered populares :/
Thank you, though I’m not sure I know more. I remember only Marcus Claudius Marcellus, cos. 51 bce. In 45 bce was murdered in Athens by his friend/client Magius, Cicero thinks - without any political motivation (Cic. Att. 13.10, Att. 13.22, Fam. 4.12).
...And do we count that time when Clodia POISONED Celer? (No, I’m not serious.)

during napoléon and joséphine’s wedding night , napoléon , hoe 4 joséphine that he was , wanted to shag his new wife - but then he discovered fortuné , joséphine’s pug , was already sleeping at her feet . napoléon didn’t appreciate having to share josie with the dog so he told her either fortuné or he would leave the bed ; ; ; ; this isnt everything tho , , i think he was undressing or smth in the dark of the night and FORTUNÉ BIT IN HIS ANKLE , and REALLY hard - later napoléon would say he still had a scar from fortuné there .
