San Francisco, Treasure Island Music Festival 2015 Look: Hollywood Glam Inspired Slightly Psycho Sparkle Princess.  AKA Treasure Island Prom Queen.

You guys.  I’ve been trying to go to this little festival for yearrrrrrrs and I am so glad I finally made it to TREASURE ISLAND this year!! And yes. It was everything I dreamed it would be and more.  

San Francisco is one of my favorite cities in the world.  I love the weather.  I love the grey skies and the clouds.  I love the people.  I love the music.  And I love the way Treasure Island so perfectly captures all of the above in such a beautiful and intimate way. 

Another special thing about this fest is that there are only two stages and the acts alternate so you can actually see ALLLLL the bands.  

My highlights were definitely Father John Misty, Jose Gonzalez, CHVRCHES, and The National.  But like.... that is half the lineup right there so yeah. Heaps of good shit.

In the spirit of keeping SF weird, Michael and I participated in a “medical study” at the festival. 

The whole thing was posed as a way to diagnose a “cyber infection” through a series of bizarre questions.  Then we had to navigate a maze in these special goggles in which you can only see yourself via live stream cameras.... 

According to the “scientist” pictured below, I am infected with a computer virus likely due to the excessive time I spend on instagram. 

Basically he diagnosed me as positive and then we took a selfie.

Panda Bear -- Is this why people don’t do enough drugs, because they think it’ll be like this? I assure you, mushrooms can be a nightmare, but at least they’re a fun nightmare. (Zora says acid and heroin exist on the same plane???)

The National -- Indifferent to staying for the full set, though disappointed I won’t hear “Fake Empire” or “Mr. November.” I remember being in high school and keeping speakers under my bed, so I could sleep to the National rising up and enveloping me. Now, I just want Matt to cut his greasy carny hair. (Still, band sounds crisp as fuck.)
