It’s the alienage, just after a raid . You find her not as she is but what she sees herself as in her worst moments. A small, scrawny child. She’s the age she was when her mother was murdered, about 12. It’s how it always is post raid. It smells only of smoke and blood, overwhelmingly so. For sound, there’s the screams and weeping of those just finding the bodies of their loved ones. That, and the crackling of timber shacks burning to a crumpled heap, dogs barking, and someone vomiting a few yards away. It’s so smoky that if it weren’t the fade where these things don’t matter so much, you would barely be able to breathe without coughing, to see without squinting through watering eyes. You’ll find her sitting in filth next to the memory of the body of her mom. Initiating dialogue with her will start with her vacantly commenting that she should have been quicker, stronger, to prevent this, and that she deserves to suffer for failing everyone. There’s two ways to move forward witb the quest- either use a persuasion check to convince her that this is the fade and all this has already happened, or tell her that all this moping isn’t like her. The latter will lead to her becoming irate and challenging you, which you can respond with “see? Use that anger. Think about what you’re angry at.” And encouraging her to get moving in order to seek revenge. Afterward, when the circle quest is finished, you’ll have the option to talk about what you saw in the fade.
