I've been such a fan of power rangers ever since SPD up until Megaforce especially when it comes to shipping the red and pink rangers. And only the red and pink rangers (of course there's Jungle Fury, Ninja Storm, Dino Thunder, RPM where they don't have a pink ranger).
Out of all the couples/ships, I seem to be stuck on Andros and Cassie. I know Andros is shipped with Ashley on the show but I just can't seem to get into their dynamic, y'know? And yeah, TJ and Cassie were technically the red and pink turbo rangers but I can't seem to find their dynamic beyond a platonic admiration/close friendship kind of thing. Same with Tommy and Kim (yeah yeah different red and pink, I actually prefer Jason and Kim).
Andros is pretty stiff and awkward at the beginning of the season (painful backstory, world on your shoulders character) while Cassie is independent and vocal and it just tugs at me, y'know? Normally I'm all for grumpy x sunshine but something, the grumpy x fierce troupe chokes me on this one.
Like, if the show had gone on that route Andros would have had more of an emotional stability with Cassie given their individual personalities and personally, I think the confused/awkward leader with the fierce/independent/sarcastic heart of the team would have been an interesting pair. There's just something about red and pink that I can't stop shipping them. They have few episodes together, but oh god, the episodes where they thought Zhane was dying? The handholding, the arm around the waist, the taking care of Zhane as if their kid/younger sibling?
God, I live for crumbs like that. I think I'm gonna write about them more. I don't know if people still ship them, but that's okay. I'd raise the fics and this ship from the deepest part of the ocean if I have to.
