I imagine that Gordon and John have few interests in common, except for a shared childhood fascination with Choose-Your-Own-Adventure books, Whodunnits, and Cryptozoology. John was in it for the science, Gordon was in it because he wanted to find a monster (and if he didn’t, maybe he’d catch some fish or frogs in the pond instead.)

I meant to make them look a little older, but John looks about 11, so Gordon would be about 8. Something around there. And I totally didn’t listen to my headcanon that John is one of those kids who won at puberty, cos I like drawing that silly curl.
