You ever write a fic and suddenly a random side character just asserts themselves into the narrative and becomes your favorite little guy ever?
Cause I'm writing a Barcus fic at the moment. I'd rather not discuss the plot cause it's apt to change, but I decided Thulla (the deep gnome you find poisoned in the Myconid colony) would be the best character to kickstart the story. Which is really meant to be Barcus's story, she's just meant to be the call to action so to speak.
I'm nearly 8000 words in an she has completely taken over. I love this girl. She knows what she wants and she gets it. But in a very subtle way, that doesn't feel actively manipulative or controlling. She's so passionate!! And Barcus's relarionship with her is just so funny and sweet while not 100% healthy either.
I love this character so much now. And I'm so sad no one else gets to experience the Thulla inside my head right now.
