#throwback thoughts

Anyway thinking of old CM Tumblr tonight.

I spent my childhood in the countryside where the streams are clear, trees are found in the backyard of every houses, the beach and the river is only a few miles away and visiting your friend doesn't require transportation fees. Living in the countryside allowed me to run free with not much to worry. The air is healthy as is the dirt and the food is fresh and naturally grown. My cousins and I used to escape from our afternoon naps and go swimming in the beach or play near the flood wall, and when my grandfather realizes that we’re gone, he would chase us and we would try to run away from him. I would help my grandmother catch chickens to be served for dinner. We would ride wagons that is attached in a carabao when we harvest crops. We would fetch water in the well and would go back to our grandparent’s house on a race and the list goes on. Growing up in the countryside made me realize that the world is a big play ground where kids can learn while having fun, it proves that kids don’t need manufactured toys because being exposed to an open world and to nature helps a child become independent, it would also open their eyes to the beauty of life. I hope kids today would get to experience my childhood.
