Happy Birthday Danny! - Chapter 6
I’ve released a new chapter of this fic on Ao3! --- Danny poured his drink into a thermos, not his Fenton one. That was a mistake you only make once. Once his drink was in, he hovered his hand over the opening. The air around Danny’s hand chilled and produced a mist, and just a moment later several perfect spherical ice cubes dropped in.
Tucker poked the thermos with a pencil. “Dude, are you sure that’s safe to drink?”
Danny shrugged. “Not sure. It’s good practice though." He shook the thermos and the ice inside clinked. "Also, helps keep it cold.”
Tucker raised an eyebrow. “Dude," he began, sounding just slightly worried, "I took one of your ice cubes into the lab and put a thermometer on it. They were registering at negative fifty.”
Danny screwed the lid on the thermos. “How’d you get into the lab?”
“Mr. Dirhlem likes me.” Â
Sam walked up to the two of them, shifting her backpack. “You guys ready to go?”
Tucker leaned past Danny to look at Sam. “Sam, please tell Danny chilling his drinks with his ghost ice is a bad idea.”
Sam turned toward Danny, raising an eyebrow. “Is that safe? I mean, it’s ectoplasmic ice, right?”
Danny gave Sam a flat look. “I think you’re forgetting I’m half ectoplasm . The ice is coming from somewhere .”
“I was more concerned about Danny giving himself frostbite in his throat, but do I need to be worried about the sausages in your fridge too?”
“You mean besides them coming alive and trying to eat you?”
“No, Danny, I’m worried about their cholesterol content,” Tucker said, rolling his eyes.
“Actually, about that...” Danny began before pausing, sparing a quick glance at Sam.
