‘ sorry we can’t fit in a full game, ’ taliesin says, taking at seat at the cafe table after tucking the purchases he had made beneath the chair. ‘ it’s ended up a somewhat busy day. ’ taliesin had been vacillating on whether or not he would fit the memorial into his schedule for the day, but now that he had offered to go with his cousin, he realized just how much was occurring before the sun would set on the 1st of august. although, it was highly likely some of the festivities would continue after the sun had set. as he settles, he is able to catch the server’s attention and order himself an earl grey tea, with room for milk though he intended to drink it without. it was easier than explaining.
‘ how was your week ? ’ the inquiry is routine at this point, something taliesin was used to asking lyall, but the intent behind it was genuine. he actually wanted to know. it was a comforting routine that they had settled into, and the first true and uncomplicated friendship taliesin believed he had formed since he was much younger, before he was sent abroad. he had other friends he had made in the past three years, but the closeness and definite lack of ulterior motives was unique. likewise was the feeling that perhaps he had picked the right collection of nonmagical interests for someone, as conversation with lyall was easy, and taliesin did not feel the usual need to be on the defensive.
