The au is called 'Thread Softly, Stranger' (TSS for short)

The setting is around very late 1800s, setting is in a fictional town in the forest named 'Hallow Spring' (US based)

Otto's role is that of Keeper of The Forest. He's connected and in charge of looking over the town and the forest it resides in (the townspeople aren't aware of his full role and identity, they only know him as "some odd fellow who pops into town from time to time")

The 'beast' that resides within him was put there eons ago. Otto has no residual memory of who he was or why this happened to him, but he's figured out over the years that there was a purpose to keep it under control. His role as Keeper of The Forest is also associated with that.

He has many monikers/titles/nicknames that was born out of stories and tales from the locals (and beyond). Besides "Keeper of The Forest," there's "Deathbringer, Shadowlurker, The Devil's Right Hand (and his left), Satan's Seducer, The Barren Beast, The Hellhound, The Hound of Hallow Spring", etc etc. His less than savoury titles typically involve the creative usage of 'insert animal name here' and 'f**ker'

This setting is an au of @brxt-prince 's own Spiderman au concerning Otto and her main character Petra (which you NEED to read, for the love of all that is holy!)

His connection with Petra becomes more evident when she's in her 20s when they finally meet during a routine visit to her aunt May's

Otto doesn't stay in the town itself but in a cabin in the woods nearby

He's immortal BUT not invincible

He has stayed the same age (late 40s/early 50s) ever since his 'rebirth'

He has been looking over the town for about 60 years

He was married to one human prior to meeting Petra, a florist named Rosalie. Ever since her unfortunate death, he has been more solitary

His role as Keeper gives him connection to wildlife (yes, he can communicate with animals. We Snow White in this bish)

Otto's well versed and has travelled to many places far and wide. The long passage of immortality has made his experiences vast and varied

He has to make trips from time to time to commune with other fellow spirits/demons, most of whom have their own roles to keep the balance of their own sectors in check. Some demons have darker agendas however, and that's where Otto and his ilk come in

As mentioned, his additional role in Petra's life comes to a head when they officially meet in her 20s (she's a resident baker and niece to May Parker). Their connection will be explained/explored down the line in other posts (some of which WILL be spicy as heck). For now, Petra is kept in the dark of his role and their connection and only knows him as "that tall, dark and handsome stranger who offered to accompany me through the woods to my aunt's house"

Otto's 'true' form has provided him with Supernatural powers that extend to; super strength, shape-shifting (to a certain extent, he can individually morph certain aspects of his body as well and being an Incubus has also made this uh... very handy), night vision, heightened senses, quick step

It also gave him tendrils that can form on command. Unlike like Canon Otto, he does not have their voices in his head (that will be explored MUCH LATER). The tendrils can also make changes to itself, and can go in and out of a solid and smoke state. Otto can feel whatever they touch/sense as well

TSS Otto's personality is very similar to Raimi's Otto/Ock in that he can be pleasant and charming but there's an underlying sense of danger and something beyond. To most people, he will just be cordial and straightforward (to Petra it's a different story).

Below the control and well assured confidence that he holds lies a self loathing and disdain for his true nature. He's learned to live with it over the decades but it does leave a bitter taste in his mouth whenever he thinks how his mere existence is upheld to whatever 'God(s)' made him (again prior to the beast being inside him, he has no recollection of his life whatsoever)

Otto has three forms; his human form, a feral form where he still maintains his human body but is more, well... feral (elongated fangs, sharp claws, glowing eyes, tentacles more vicious and imposing), and finally his beastial form where he transforms into a huge monster that's in the shape of a horned-wolf with tentacles (he does not go into this form willingly and if he does, he loses any semblance of humanity and thought)
