The Archangel’s Prayer 

Avacyn, who alight in Thraben, Hallowed be thy name Thy Blessed Moonsilver shine on. Thy will be done: "What cannot be destroyed must be bound". Lend us your strength to face the darkness; Forgive us our fear, for together we must stand; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; within, without, fang and talon. For you are Innistrad's guardian; Its divine power, and its glory, Forever and ever, Amen

This is a reworking of The Lord’s Prayer for my Innistrad campaign, which would be the standard prayer taught to all in church and memorized by Cathars and Clerics. There would be a myriad of variations, depending on parish, province and even village to village and Priest to wandering Monk. 

I look forward to writing variations, especially as the larger over-arching plot point comes into play, and considering the prayers of Stensians who revere indivdual angels of the Host of Herons as their chosen patron saint/ angel.

I played out a thorougly enjoyable flashback vignette for Inquisitor Hjordis, earlier thiss weel, which involved a unique interaction with the an angel that is the beginning of a much larger subplot that will be playing out in the background of and intersect with the main game much further down the line, which I ineed to aadd to my eternaal list of things to write up on here.

The walled city of Thraben is built upon a plateau overlooking a lake where herons make their nests. The official religion teaches the faithful to fear the Night, and in order to combat that fear, each inner wall is dedicated to harboring a tamed version of what is considered Night’s most terrible dangers: captured and defanged vampires, impoverished merchants, children without fathers and chained werewolves.

The people of Thraben consider their city to be the heart of the world, and the only safe place in all it’s face, which is why the ruling clergy devotes itself only to the obsessive cleansing of the streets, which are indeed impeccable, like healthy veins ought to be.

Odric: "Avacyn. Did you just get home? Where have you been?"

Avacyn: "Um..."

Odric: “Do you realize what time it is?”

Avacyn: “Uh. I was just up late doing some work.”

Odric: “Uh-huh. Why is there a blood in your hair?”

Avacyn: “Pfff... what? What are you talking about. That’s ridiculous. You’re always so suspicious. Stop being paranoid.”

Odric: “There is a bloody feather LITERALLY RIGHT THERE ON YOUR HEAD. What the hell is going on, Avacyn?!”

Okay so here’s all I’ve got - descriptions and images for each of the areas, it’s not much. Access is denied on the other two areas for now; I assume they’ll open up once we’re actually supposed to get to them. I wish the map was slightly more of a real map but at least it’s something!

The art for the lab is the art from Rooftop Storm. The art from Markov Manor is the art from Structural Distortion. I don’t know about the cathedral, though, as it doesn’t seem to match anything old or anything spoiled, so that’s something.
