I don't like to post long texts, but I need an outlet to express some thoughts. Im just so immensely sad to hear about the shooting while I was overseas. I have many friends who are a part of the LGBT community, & this is a hate crime, which needs to be recognized as just that. It's important to acknowledge that the shooter was a homophobe who was struggling to deal with his own sexual orientation. We need to keep this shooting as what it is, and admitting that is an important part of facilitating a proper network of communication for what really matters, which is to love & accept people from different backgrounds. Also, keep in mind that the profile of the mass shooter is irrelevant to what he did. Lastly, asking for stricter background checks is not invalidating the constitution, but strengthening it, however, all of this is too soon to talk about. This is the time to grieve for all 49 lives lost and praying for the other 53 who were injured. Appreciate every moment you have with your loved ones. No matter how much we try, we cannot control these things, but it's important to live your life to the fullest because the poor victims cannot and this should make anyone more grateful to being alive.
